Nude Woman I: Award-Winning Art by Wendy Clark
**This sculpture won an Honorable Mention Award at the 2008 Shoreline Arts Festival, 3-D Division (Shoreline, Washington).
A sense of reluctant acceptance permeates the woman who kneels, head up, eyes open. The vivid blue, yellow, white, and black behind her add to the energy that flows outward.
This sculpture began as a line drawing created without lifting pencil from paper. To put her on glass, the first step was to fuse three pieces of colored opaque glass to a clear glass base, resulting in a substantial foundation for the figure, which was sandblasted into the glass. Finally, the sculpture is mounted on a stainless steel modern base using four round cylinders that hold the piece securely, about 1 1/2" inches above the base.
Glass size: 9 1/2" x 15 1/4". Stainless steel mount is 13 1/2" x 19".
