I've never really felt artistic, but from the moment that I saw Lampwork Beads, I knew that I had to learn. I am self taught and a work in progress since 2004. I have a home based studio in North Carolina- where each bead is created, kiln annealed, cleaned & temporarily strung for pictures. I use Moretti (Effetre), Vetrofond, Lauscha, Ornela, Reichenbach (104COE) glass OR Bullseye & Schott (90COE) glasses along with the occasional frit and Thompson's enamels. Each glass rod is melted with a hot torch, wound around 1/16" or 3/32" mandrels and then decorated with handpulled stringer.
