Penny Gentle

Penny Gentle

(PennyGentle)
Working in glass comes on the heels of a few other media I have been involved in over my lifetime. It seems to be the greatest and most rewarding challenge yet, to work with molten glass, metals, reactive glasses and frits. There is the hope here of creating something unusual, beautiful and desirable..and it is probably less than two inches in any direction! If only we could always be happy with just a tiny treasure to hold our attention and devotion.
My work has evolved over just a year and a half. I work many hours at a time four days weekly and often in the evenings, or I study whatever resources I can find. I usually create jewelry from my beads and only recently have been making beads that stand on their own merit...perhaps another creative person will complete their voyages for them!

Goddess beads

Goddess beads

(DancingStarBeads)
I started making goddess beads that I wanted to look like something you would find in an archeological dig somewhere. Like something some ancient person carried on them.

Then they started getting a little bit....sexier?

A New Series

A New Series

(KariLittle)
This is a series I am working on using Borosilicate glass in organic shapes. Learning to develop the color was one of the catalysts for me. I am excited to see how it will evolve! There is more to come ....
Fossils

Fossils

(AnnaDuhame)
I adore fossils! I love to hunt for them, love to collect them. These beads are really cool...they have been wrapped in copper foil and then they have leaves of pure silver put on...the silver is carefully melted in and then it reacts with the copper....it looks like fossilized leaf impressions...here and there you may also see touches of amber--another fossil.
Aboriginal ~ INSPIRED~ Beads

Aboriginal ~ INSPIRED~ Beads

(AnnaDuhame)
I have loved the paintings and art of the native Australians since the first time I set eyes on them. Simple symbols formed into intricate designs that tell a story--what a brilliant inspiration for beads! These are in no way REAL dreamtime art, but an appreciative nod towards a beautiful art form.
Moonlit Beaches

Moonlit Beaches

(AnnaDuhame)
I also have a beach section, but I kind of felt these deserve a section of their own...the entire look is very different. I am really going for a painted appearance here. I have developed (what I feel is) a great technique for ocean waves and a realistic shore...these are some of my favorites!

"Evergreen"

(HamFamStudio)
This one of a kind necklace was made for those of us that love large. The torch fired beads were made to complement the 3 1/4" kiln fired ,sand carved focal bead. A bit of dichro was added for sparkle. Evergreen is 19" from the clasp to the tip of the small dangling bead. All silver is sterling. It has been well designed to endure the weight of the glass. I have been working hard there is more to come. I can't have Josh "Hot Hands" Hamra showing me up.

I make alot of drops. Recently picked up some garnet and I love the combination of it and caramel. It is approximately 1 inch in size. I am starting to use stones for backgrounds and think they look very natural. Thanks for checking out my work.

This is one of my newest pinwheel designs. I have recently started making alot of pinwheel designs and really enjoy the results. It creates great flow within the pendant. I used silver strike and amazon night for the pinwheels and onyx for the backing. Approximate size is 1 1/2 inches. Thanks for checking out my work.

Jones Art Glass iTwist

Jones Art Glass iTwist

(JonesArtGlass)
The iTwist is my newest design added to the Jones Art Glass collection. Its an encased, Boro, lampworked bead/pendant and features an encapsulated High Desert Twist trapped beautifully within a super magnified layer of clear boro. I enjoy evolution of style and I truly enjoyed creating the high desert twist; so its awesome to expand on an already fun idea. I'll be debuting this design at The Beast Bead Show 1rst annual Tucson Fall Show in a few days. I truly enjoy the finished product and up close the colors stack up and twist into beautiful sprial "steps". Thanks for spending some time with me...
Finished Pieces

Finished Pieces

(SweetwaterDesigns)
This page will contain a few pieces of finished jewelry. I really do prefer making the beads but once in while it is very satisfying to sit down and showcase my beads in bracelets or earrings or pendants.
Luck of the Irish

Luck of the Irish

(MandellaGlass)
This is a pendant I made custom for a guy and after the way it came out, I think I am going to have to make some more for Saint Patricks Day. I also included one of my newest rod floral implosions.
