kobe lampwork festa 2005 Dec.18.19.20
Int... Lampwork Festa |Kobe earthquake 10 years ago - We are opening the international event festa for lampwork in Kobe Japan, where people experienced the Kobe earthquake 10 years ago. Japanese and international leading artists are invited to introduce the charm of lampwork through demonstrations and exhibitions to bring us the beacon of hope, symbolizing the rebirth and rebuilding of Kobe city for the future. This event is to be as international as Kobe city itself, and to be a joyful communication space for the public, not only for lampwork professionals. This 3 day event will bring you joy as you : MEET, DISCOVER, LEARN and CREATE. We are looking forward to meeting all of you. We are now in the rapid process of making our official web site.

This is an excerpt from our most recent issue. The Glasscraft Emerging Artist program makes it possible for us to help make the art world at large more educated about flameworking as an art. Every month, an "Emerging Artist" has this layout mailed to over 250 collectors, galleries and museums around the nation. This list includes such notables as the Geuggenhiem, Smithsonian, Rakow Library as well the New Yorker, American Craft, Selman Gallery, etc.
We hope that you will join us by sending your bio, contact information, where your work can be found, website and 300 dpi gallery quality photos representing as wide of a variety of your work as possible.

More stuff we took to Denver, CO this past Sept ('05)
(

Nothing like starting out my 25th birthday by getting up at about 4 in the morning for a nice long road trip (from NC to CO). I spent the whole day (or 2) crammed in the back of our blazer. Yippie! Here are some more pics of our small setup in our room at the bead show we did, these are some of my dad's beads (we took like 2500 beads or more all together).
Natural Glass
(

I have been making glass beads for a several years now and am trying to put them together in jewelry...though I have found I would much rather make beads than jewelry.
My main focus is large, soft glass focal beads with colors and patterns reflecting nature. Living in Seattle offers lots of inspiration!

Sacred Art Beads - A Few Focals From Me

I don't usually do focals myself. I like sets and I think most jewelry makers do too. I do occasionally make focals and these are a few of my favorites.
