New work gives me much more surprises. The desire to experiment and to take risks drives me to seek my own interpretation of glass through a personalized process. I like to chance because I always want to find some new way to play.

Whispering water

(PeggyPettigrewSte...)
The whispers of the native americans rising from the waters. Inspired by the Hopi Blue Sun Clan stories. Part of my Earth-Wind-Sky-Water series, inspired by Lance Polingyouma. Plasma fusion glass. Optical crystal - fused in many layers to 3/4" thickness. 18" diameter. 15 lbs of glass, kiln sculpted and fused.

Drip Casting

(MotherCrow)
Drip castings are made using weak or broken molds, under cooking (not heating to the preferred temperature or not holding long enough) and charging (adding glass) during the melting process. Because the glass must be added multiple times the melting, or dripping of the glass into (and outside of the mold) can be watched so that glass does not entirely leave the mold. The results are often stunning in their texture and variation. The examples on this page were made using recycled glass.

Little Black Book 2007

(RachelGrettonGlass)
Little Black Book is a new series of work by Rachel Gretton.

The work is created in response to a new phase in her emotional journey: motherhood.

The work addresses a lot of complex often conflicting circumstances: joy, anxiety, change, the loss of identity and dreams.

Studies for Kinetic Installation

(thoskite)
These are cast and cold worked glass modules created to prototype a concept for a large installation potentially involving 100s of kinetic forms. Forms moving thru time, the rebirth and entropy of that movement, and the interplay of randomness vs. synchronicity - underlie all of nature. These studies are the 1st step toward an installation that explores such a landscape. There is a video here-
