New Vessel

New Vessel

(JoeAndDonna)
This idea came to me and I just had to run with it. The little dolphins are not quite matching but it still looks great.
I will be trying this again, a whole set of these using different little animals as the handles. The ideas are running around in my head and I'm drawing pictures as fast as I can, now let's hope I can get to the torch and put them to glass.

Vessels

Vessels

(TeresaMcGuffeyHardy)
Vessels have captured my imagination like few other things have so far. Here are my ongoing efforts to push my limits on vessel size, shape, and design.
Paperweight Vase

Paperweight Vase

(ChristopherRich)
The vases in my Paperweight series are created with multiple vivid colors of glass applied to the base color bubble. I mix the colors into an abstract pattern that suits my fancy, then add a thick layer of clear glass to magnify and intensify the design. Each piece is very heavy, with the feel and effect of a large glass paperweight, but shaped as a vase or bowl. For more images see http://www.richgl...

Color Changing Incense Burner

Color Changing Incense Burner

(CuatroKruse)
Fumed and freestyle raked, with amber purple highlights. You stick the incense in the cork, light it, and everything burns inside the piece. Air in the bottom, smoke out the top. Changes color as it's used!

Stained Glass Mosaic Vase

Stained Glass Mosaic Vase

Speckled in colors of kelly green, turquoise, cobalt, and burnt orange, this vase just begs to be put in the sunlight. Stained glass glistens on this beautiful vase.

"Enlightened"

(MarkM.McCourt)
This is a collaboration piece that I made with Grace and Cuatro Kruse. I recently took a trip South to Durango, Colorado to work with these guys on a few projects. The week was fabulous! We created many pieces and still made time to go to a couple of breweries. This piece didn't quite fit in the kiln, so I think it is about 17 inches tall.
Seaform Goddess Vase

Seaform Goddess Vase

(CuatroKruse)
This awesome piece was a 3 way effort by Mark Mccourt, my sister Grace Kruse and I. I have been in the same shop with Grace for about 3 years, and we have collaborated before, but This 3 way collab was a first for all of us. It was really fun to put together. The foot, cup, and arms of the nude are made by Mark, Grace made the body, and I made the Seaform stem. Mark did the assembly, and It wouldn't fit in the kiln so mark flame annealed it. True height is 16&1/4 in. Definetly Grace and I's largest piece, but mark has made bigger ones before, he did a great job on the assembly, the piece stands very straight. Currently on display at my shop in Durango, but I am looking for an interested gallery or collector...
Living Orchid Vase

Living Orchid Vase

(CuatroKruse)
This intricate piece is the third produced by Mark Mccourt and I. This time I made the foot and top, and Mark made a very detailed sculpture of an orchid growing out of a little flower pot and attached it to a tree or root style stem. I really love how this piece came together, it is much different than anything I have made before. Mark did all the assembly, and his experience with larger pieces certainly shows. True height is 13&3/4 in. This piece is proudly displayed at my shop in Durango, CO.
Xmas Vase

Xmas Vase

(Getz)
Vase I made in 2004 for my pops. This was by and far the most ambitious piece for me to date. I was working out of my apartment bedroom using a little junior cooper kiln. There was maybe a half inch of space to spare. Such sloppy reversals but I was damn pleased at the time. (Sorry, didnt realize most all the pics are blurred)

Straight from Jupiter's dark and cratered moon, the largest satellite in the solar system. Many more are breeding elsewhere in the cosmos...

True height is 13&1/2 IN

New Work by Claudia Whitten

New Work by Claudia Whitten

(ClaudiaWhitten)
My work organic in nature is inspired by my surrounding. I spend a lot of time looking at rock and exploring the colors in them. Sometimes subtle other time dramatic.
I have really enjoyed working with powders and frit to create this new body of work.
