Had a great time in this workshop, if you ever get the chance, take a workshop from Mickelsen. Materials covered were electroforming, leafing, enamels, copper fusing, and patina techniques. Way too much fun. Thanks Brett Tam for all the hospitality!
Turtle Reef goblets

Turtle Reef goblets

(LucidVisions)
A favorite to all the locals who come by our studio. Loggerhead turtles nest three blocks from our studio, and people will camp out on the beach for weeks just to see them hatch. Remember keep the lights off!

Saki Set

Saki Set

(DeMoss)
They were working it in front of the camera...that's why there are so many different poses.

So I didn't realize that traditionally there is no handle on a saki set....oh well.

Glasses with a twist

Glasses with a twist

(ChrisVickers)
It's been fun making this style lately, the hollow twisting donut that is. The colors I used are red exotic, blue luster and a touch of obtainium. I really enjoy the exotic colors for there random coloration characteristics. This set is intended to be a wedding gift. Thanks for looking.

I took this piece to GAAC confrence and submitted it to the goblet grab.
It was the 3rd picked out of about 40 on the table. The best compliment ever!!!

Wedding Flutes

Wedding Flutes

(LilBitAGlass)
My buddy Dan was making some wine flutes for a friend of his for a wedding present and asked me if I would make him some matching vortex marbles in a sparkle green and a light yellow. I didn't have anything lighter than Sunshine Yellow which really stands out and I happened to have some Moss on hand so here are the flutes we made together. He did the flute tops and feet, I just made the marbles. Thats him in the pictures pieceing them together on my bench. What a mess that is. ;) Enjoy.

THE GILDED TOUCH

THE GILDED TOUCH

Hand Painted Original Design Art Glass Stemware by NC Artist Kristin Shamel

As an artisan I endeavor to be one of many talented and distinguished craftsmen who take pride in the quality of their work, constantly growing and cultivating their talents. After working with many types of mediums and surfaces I am enjoying the creativity and sense of wonder that I find in painting art on glass. Each original piece is created on top quality glassware which is then oven fired and cured to a hard finish that is durable and dishwasher safe. By experimenting with these vibrantly colored paints I have found a distinct and unique technique that makes each piece that I create a one-of-a-kind object of art. I am constantly asked the question "This is paint?".

Wedding Day Champagne Glasses

(ZollieGlassCreations)
These glasses are made up of five sections each. The base has two reverse axis sections on top of a section of blue. The reverse axis sections are half Aqua Azul/Dark Cobalt and Blue Spruce/Dark Cobalt. The cup is clear with the addition of a small blue rim to match the base. They both stand about 8.5 inches tall. I made these for a friend to give as a wedding gift...
