Travis Weber, Ben Burton, Kaj Beck collaboration. We had a lot of fun with this one. Travis made one of his "tribsl skin" marbles, Ben made the sea horse and coral marble, the cane and vessel assembly was my duty. 17 inches tall

Bambu too

(NudibranchArtGlass)
The sound of wind through the bambu,

suddenly, like a thunderclap,

the cricket stops singing.

These are more bottles based on bamboo. Smaller than the previous ones ... but they've been keeping me amused.

Tree of Life

(PiaKaven)
This plate was blown in the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, while I was a visiting artist. The image has been sandblasted onto the surface. It is one of my all time favorites.

Deep Space Belt Buckle

(DeMoss)

They have a lot more depth than what shows up in the photos. There are chunks of space rock (silicon) floating around. And the planets are actually round and floating. They look a little flat in the photo.

Eclectic Shaman

(NudibranchArtGlass)
More fun stuff based on part of our Peru experience.
The rattle at top is losely based on a shipibo-conibo rattle. It's usually made out of a gourd and incised with patterns. The sound of the rattle keeps the shaman rooted in the present.
The snake head object is a talking stick. Only the carrier of a talking stick is allowed to speak, until he passes it on to the next participant. I made it a snake because snakes have various meanings, the christian meaning of "evil" is not a common one. Snakes mean renewal, rebirth, are a symbol of the earth mother and mean wisdom in many cultures. The shaman speaks of the future with wisdom.
The rhino fetish is also symbolic of wisdom, but also past lives. The shaman acknowledges the ancestors and teaches lessons from the past.

bikebottles

(BerndWeinmayer)
1997 I start blowing bottles with some meltings inside. My first theme were bikes in original scales. Since that time I made about 400 bottles with all kind of stuff inside what the customers wish...
More other themes you can see on my webpage www.weinmayer.at

"Peace Kanji" Tray

(ThistleGlass)
"Peace Kanji" Tray is a warm ivory fused glass tray encased with a wonderful textured irridized glass.
The irrid effect doesn't photograph well (looks silvery in the detail photo) but it has a rainbow effect that makes this piece POP beautifully!
"Kanji" is a Japanese symbol that mean "Peace".
The graphics have been hand-painted in glass powder, which is a meticulous process, but so worth the effort.
"Peace Kanji" measures 16 x 12 inches and is for sale at http://www.yessy....
