I just completed this U.L. listed Blown Glass Sculpture for a private residence in Minnesota. This is the first posting of the 5 new Chandeliers we just completed this past January 07. Many thanks to James (Jimmy) Ronner for all of his hard work!!!! He not only constructed all 5 metal frames (I helped a little), but his design input and glass blowing assistance helped make this happen. This, as with all of my work has been Copywritten and may NOT be reproduced in any fashion without my express written consent.

Amphora Basket Chandeliers

Amphora Basket Chandeliers

(AndrewBrott)
This is a set of two 28" x 28" x 48" U.L. Listed Blown Glass Sculptures, for Crave Restaurant in Edina Minnesota, which opened February 1st 2007. They are part of my "Satsuma" and "Basket" Series. Crave's kitchen just began to function while we were installing 3 of our 5 Chandeliers, and the food was fantastic!!! Their kitchen features a wood fired oven, a complete sushi bar, and an extensive wine list. Owners Kam and Keyvan Talebi know what they are doing, and impressed the hell out of this fussy New Orleanian. Crave is located at Galleria, 3510 W. 70th St., Edina Mn.

Pictured as a 54"x 23”x 54", U.L. listed, mixed media Lit Sculpture for Crave Restaurant in Edina Minnesota, from my Satsuma Basket Series.
Craft without theory is just and object. As I searched for meaning to my work, I loosely practiced the design principles of Ruskin and Morris, and Arts and Craft Movement of the 19th and 20th centuries. Now, with a little help from my Post-K PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), I fully comprehend their theories, and shout again Sullivan’s phrase “FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION”.
There is a metaphysical force or Living Aesthetic, which uses the laws of evolution to create our physical world and govern the universe. My work mixes traditional craft materials, with research into Living Aesthetics; I hope to continue Morris’s work and “elevate decorative arts to fine arts stature".
To most of y'all, I must sound like a turd burgling arrogant twit moron, but I actually believe in my own "BS", and used it to make this work.
ALL COMENTS ARE WELCOME!
Warm regards,
AB 3/07

Lamp Black Magic Candlelight

Lamp Black Magic Candlelight

(KHK)
The “magic” at this lamp is hidden in the top surface of the Lamp Black Magic Candlelight.
This part is made out of a long, elliptical agate slice and a very dark red and blue two pieces glass plate with
a continuous pattern. Because all three parts lieing in an own level and the line under the agate points in the same level as the agate, so your eye like to see the whole part as even.
Seeing the angel at the upper line irritates the brain and now it can not decide the right sight, so it comes up with an effect like the sights are jittering around the surface.

The six particles of the lamps column are broken out of one black and white Spectrum Baroque glass plate, grinded and set together as a body with its continuous patterns.

There are extra great and special near taken pictures of this lamp and its effects. The last picture shows a detail of the Lamp Black Magic Candlelight with a "Zentimertermass" as your benchmark for the dimensions of my seams and as my definition of "ongoing pattern".

Lamp Bloody Mary

Lamp Bloody Mary

(KHK)
The column of the Lamp Bloody Mary has ten parts and is made out of a red and white Spectrum glass sheet. As you can see the body is build together without any faults in the pattern.

The big, nearly round, agate slice has three agate circles (caramel coloured) separated by two crystal parts (clear) and in the middle a little hole. The diameter of the polished agate slice is 7 inch and the object is 2 feet high.

Melting glass, forging Copper, Bronze and Steel.
Moulding clay and using high temperatures, with modern yet at the same time ancient methods, we give form to these materials that “Terra” Earth has so open-handedly granted to us.
We create objects of art, that are both useful and decorative, in forms and shapes created by the exquisite iridescent colours of oxides taking us to another dimension, that of beauty and joy of life.

chandelier in my house

chandelier in my house

(DeMoss)
Here is a chandelier I made that is now hanging in our living room. I'm not sure how many pieces it has, but I think there are more than 250.

I'm making a couple more at the moment that are way cooler.

Mystical Rhythms Accent Lamp

Mystical Rhythms Accent Lamp

(RedBeansGraphics)
Made of 2 different types of clear ribbed or reeded glass. The main body is 1/2 inch ribbed onto which pieces of the same and 1/8 inch ribbed are soldered onto the outside of the main body running in counter directions to create the wonderful refractive effects. The lamp measures approx. 6" square by 8" to 9" height. It sits in the groove of a brushed metal dark gray base and the light source is rope lighting coiled up inside the base. Comes in lighting colors of clear, green, blue, red, yellow and orange. There's a diffusing piece of glass sitting on top of the base, inside the body of the lamp and the top is open to allow for placement of candles, colored glass pieces, saran wrap, colored paper or foil inside it to give added color and dimension to the lighting effect the glass produces. This lamp IS copyrighted and reproduction for sale or manufacture is strictly forbidden and will be enforced. Current price is $120 a piece. These are handmade and the solder is left silvered.
Honu n Fish

Honu n Fish

(DK.Nagano)
This unique lamp depicts sea turtles and fish swimming amid a medley of pale wispy purple cobblestones. As a free flowing design, it is not made using a pattern and, as such, is totally one-of-a-kind. It measures 8" wide x 13" in height, and has an eight foot cord with an inline switch. Signed by the artist.
