Installation for public restroom

Installation for public restroom

(LinnKalseth)
sandcast glass modules mounted on wooden wall with backlighting.
Each module has a ground and polished lense through which the "resting" visitor can look into the inner-glass-world. In there she/he will find mysterious lines of words apparently with no meaning.
Keep resting, keep reading. Nothing is as it appears...

ENLIGHTENED A Glass Show at The Ayden Gallery

ENLIGHTENED A Glass Show at The Ayden Gallery

(BradenHammond)
I made my first chandelier for this show. It's called 'Chandelerious'. This project took over three months to complete and was a colaboration with two other artists (Uncle Don from MHP Fabrications - Metalwork and Dougie Stewart from Gallus Designs - Grinding). Each piece of glass was made from Simax Large Flat Rod.

The Glass Show at the Ayden Gallery in Vancouver, British Columbia will continue until July 30, 2006 if
you have time to check it out. www.aydengallery.... is a lot of great glass art at the show. Please take a look at their work as well. If you are an artist in the show and do not see your work here, please contact us and we will add it to the page.

Thanks for looking.

Contemporary Sconces

Contemporary Sconces

(EricEhlenberger)
These contemporary series of wall sconces offer simple but elegant solutions to ambient lighting for home or commercial applications. A contrast of colors is presented in these original and unique wall sconces that incorporate media such as antique glass lenses and a variety of neon colors combined with brushed aluminum. While the standard finish is brushed aluminum, other options are available.

I took this lamp shade to AGI with the idea of creating something fabulous for my moms 50th birthday. The end result was greater than I could have imagined. Tom and Elaine have created an exceptional opportunity for lampworkers to come together with the common goal of teaching and learning. In addition to the glass info, Big Don and Randy shared their blacksmithing skills with any one who was interested. Special thanks to everyone for making this project come together.

Dolphin Lamp

Dolphin Lamp

(KHK)
The inimitable Dolphin Lamp is made
out of one piece of Spectrum Baroque glass. The disk has to be cut into thin, long stripes and grindet to mitre to build the column with the ongoing pattern. The 5.5 mm thick brown agate slice on the top of this lamp looked at me like a dolphin and gave the lamp its name. The lamp is 577 mm (22 3/4 inch) high, has a width of 178 mm and a depth of 125 mm.
