Plasma

Plasma

(GreenStoneGlass)
These are mostly boro sculptures with either wood or ceramic mounts. Tho i havent been making much neon art lately i have a full neon shop in my studio. I learned to make these things at Pilchuck under Cork Marcheschi.
I was inspired by the latest issue of "the flow" magazine's story on Harold Eberhart to post these. Hope you enjoy!

Chicken wire

Chicken wire

(AUvetro)
I have been playing with a concept for the past few semester involving chicken wire lanterns. I began blowing into the wire and have been pleased with the effects. Displayed in a white room the light splays onto the wals around the viewer and onto their bodies as well. A single piece then involves the lantern, the viewer, and the surrounding borders. Trying to express to the viewer that glass especially extends beyond the object itself. Light and glass inarguably coexist wiht each other. It is easy to say that I am finding an end with the mesmorizing qualities of the material. But in another sense I am trying to use it as a means to the end, speaking of the space rather than the object.
Everything is still very much in process.

Lamp Tall Blue

Lamp Tall Blue

(KHK)
You can see a black clear agate slice on the Top of my newest Lamp Tall Blue. The clear part has a bubble-pattern with a black island in the middle. This slice is cut from the same stone as the slice in the Lamp Big Blue. You also can see this lamp in one of the other galleries here.

The Lamp Tall Blue is made out of one piece of blue white clear Spectrum Baroque glass plate BR/603, it is cut into nine stripes and them were grind to mitre (not only bevel edged). Therefore it shows this perfect, ongoing blue white pattern on its tall body.

The tallest stripe is 26,5 mm width by 554 mm height. Although its great polished Agate slice is 7 mm thick and this glass can be over 4 mm thick the seams on my lamp are only about 3 to 4 mm. .
Only this extreme accuracy on an imprecision glass material like this double leaded Baroque glass can makes this real.

The Lamp is 624 mm high, only 125 mm width and on the base 114 mm deep;

the agate slice is 123 mm width with 166 mm height and 7 mm thick.

Electric Glass Lamp

(EugeneRain)
This gorgeous lamp stands 15 inches tall, with a shade spread of 9 inches. Made with Caribbean coral, silver beach, Alaska night, black rose and silver/gold fuming. The glass topper is a handmade radioactive geometric, with very deep mirror like squares reflecting emerald greens and dark blues. The electric parts cover is also made of glass, with gentle ripples at the edge to match the shade.

Priced at only $750

Made by Matt and Misha Gieseler and Nate Miers. Signed by each artist and dated.

Cameo Art Glass by Sandu Musat

Cameo Art Glass by Sandu Musat

(SANDUMUSAT)
Musat designs and creates original cameo art glass - one unique piece at a time. The sensitive detail, light and shadow achieved by Musat using hydrofluoric acid mark his standing among true cameo glass artists past and present.
Lit Wall Sconces

Lit Wall Sconces

(LindemannGlass)
These wall sconces are glass attached to a steel frame. I weld the frame and then attach the glass pieces. I'm having a lot of fun with these and since I have lots more ideas I'm planning to make more.
Lamp Seminoles

Lamp Seminoles

(KHK)
The columne of this lamp is 600mm high and made out of one disc Sectrum glass.

The agate slice on its top reminds me of the FSU logo. I am a fan of the Seminoles and their great coach Bobby Bowden.

Caren's Stained Glass

Caren's Stained Glass

(CarenSStainedGlass)
Hand made stained glass panel lamp with a cypress knee base. The dragonflies eyes are dichroic beads and the wings are made out of iridized glass that give a realistic 3-D look. I used the cypress knee lamp base to keep with the swamp theme of the lily pad and dragonfly. A mission style oak base is also available
