Irises in progress
(
BarbaraA.Caraway
)
Well, these aren't "floral glass beads," but there isn't a section for just 'floral glass sculpture.'
These were some irises I worked on last spring, but never got around to posting. 90 COE Bullseye, flameworked on GTT Lynx.
Torch fire vitreous enamel
(
weseye
)
I cut the flowers and leaves from copper foil (36 gauge). I cut the wires I use to the lengths I need. Then I braze the wire to the copper. This is a very delicate operation. I shape the cut copper. I mix the vitreous enamel with a holding agent and a little rubbing alcohol. I apply the enamel (wet) to the formed copper shapes. Let it dry completely and then heat it to 1400-1500 F. with my Acetylene torch. After the enameled pieces are cooled, I arrange how I want it and braze it together

Hummingbirds
I truly love hummingbirds! They are like tiny living jewels that sparkle as they flit from flower to flower.

Vedas first faces...
Kudos to anyone who does faces. They are HARD. These are pretty rough and still need some refinement. I hope to do more at some point in the future...
