Finding Forgiveness

Finding Forgiveness

(FlowingDesigns)
"Finding Forgiveness" is a child like art style and a beautiful depiction of truth. Lavish amounts of gold leafing make this piece extremely hard to photograph. The detail and radiance are not done justice here. If anyone one can give me pointers on how to photograph this better it would be appriciated. This was shot in a dark room, no light and still there is so much glare.
Longevity

Longevity

(FlowingDesigns)
This was an experiment using two pieces of glass for a 3D effect. It work out well, but I don't think the photo shows it as well. It was interesting to do. With two diffent surfaces to use in the gilding and paint, it really did turn out like looking into a pond. Fun stuff to experiment.
Lotus Blossom Geisha

Lotus Blossom Geisha

(FlowingDesigns)
"Lotus Blossom Geisha" is a lovely lady who certainly epitomizes beauty and grace. Using the traditional technique of Japanese reverse painting along with our trademark reverse gilding has created this modern interpretation of the light hearted, beautiful companion and entertainer of old. The details of her pearl white face, design of her silk kimono and golden, beaded hair comb are simply amazing.
Hawaiian Haku lei wreath stained glass suncatcher

Hawaiian Haku lei wreath stained glass suncatcher

(Tropicalglassworks)
Here in Hawaii, Haku leis are traditional headwear worn by hula dancers. They come in all different colors in a variety of flowers and foliage. This one is a wreath of wispy greens and yellows with two plumeria flowers, to hang in your window. It measures approximately 15"x15" and comes with a chain attached for hanging.

far freakin' out

far freakin' out

(MikeGong)
I get inspired when I walk past this countless times a day, so i thought I'd share it here. I made this 2+ inch "far freakin' out" marble a few years ago and kept it because the moss on the b-side checked. I really dig where it is now. Under this cool cheap glass lamp I got. I think about what my friend BT said about the "far freakin' out" marble I gave him. "Everyday I look at that piece and I remember that life is far freakin' out." Indeed

Abstract 1

Abstract 1

(FlowingDesigns)
"Abstract 1" is a beautiful addition to our new abstract series. The browns, cream, and burgundy are complimented by the copper, gold and silver reverse leafing atop the faux etching.
Gathering Water

Gathering Water

(FlowingDesigns)
This has an optical illusion when you see multiple fotos. In the fotos it looks like opposite legs cross in front of her, Glass reverse gilding/painting. See our website for details on technique and history.

Wanted to try this out so I did and here is the result. This is the best one of three that I made. The center is a dicro galaxy with elvis red petals and agua azul for the leaves.

Jaws!

(JoeAndDonna)
Brandon asked me to make him a shark for a school project he was working on. Here it is, needless to say he was real happy with it. The snake head I made to put on a wine stopper.

Light Fixture, October '06... Artworks Gallery Show

(NickElledge)
Here's a light fixture that I made for a centerpiece in my October gallery showing at Artworks here in Seattle. Their are 17 cones/lights; I made the center cone on the lathe and the other 16 by hand. Every component has been fumed with gold & silver and sandblasted. 19 lbs--- this was alot of fun to work on, I estimate 125 hours went into this. A big thanks goes to Artworks for the opportunity to show my work!
Bespoke Stained Glass

Bespoke Stained Glass

(WaysideGlass)

"Cuttle" is a concentrated work of fused, etched and leaded glass. A panel I've truly put myself into. It echoes the sea that breaks to the right of me as I sleep and the shapes that the sound create within the mind as I drifted off. Initially based on a sketch from an old doodle pad.

The Family Room Mantle

The Family Room Mantle

(XL)
This is a collection of many things I've made over the years for my family, going back to when I first began blowing glass. I try to give my mom the first of any of my stepping stone pieces. If life and finances allow me to.
Thanks for looking.

The Healing Sky Garden

The Healing Sky Garden

(StevenHwang)
This is my first permanent public installation, it measure 14m by 6m by 5m with over a hundred glass and crystal components suspended in mid-air in the Tan Tock Seng Hospital atrium in Singapore. The artwork captures light from the skylight during the day and is illuminated by lights at night.
The Healing Sky Garden installation comprising a cluster of glass orchids, a “healing skyway” made up of crystal flowers, clear glass baubles and coloured glass discs, and an amber moon with a stylized phoenix rising.
The design was inspired by a Chinese phrases which literal translation is: “The half-moon will, in time, be whole again; the wilting flowers will, eventually bear fruit.”
