Venusian Landscape Series

Venusian Landscape Series

(EricEhlenberger)
This is a fantasy landscape of Venus where the vegetation is luminous and the lakes glow. The purple back-lit terrain is brushed aluminum with a shimmering overcoat of translucent golden paint and the sky is brushed aluminum with planetary glass lenses backlit with neon. The lake is translucent silicone lit from behind with aqua neon. 48" x 32"
Abstract Expressionist

Abstract Expressionist

(EricEhlenberger)
In these sculptures, Ehlenberger contrasts conceptual representions of creativity (imagination) and strong emotion (joy, anger, ecstasy) through the use of wild arrays of neon and backlit glass lenses behind glowing foregrounds of transparent multi-colored aluminum.
Veil Series

Veil Series

(EricEhlenberger)
In the Veil Series, a "veil" of silicone is placed in front of the neon allowing the neon colors to interact and blend within the matrix of the silicone. The effect is to create a unique "canvas of light", analogous to the use of water colors on paper.

Tectonic Series

Tectonic Series

(EricEhlenberger)
The sculptures of the Tectonic Series consist of multiple distinct layers each providing a sense of movement and interaction with one another. They are about stability(the white central piece) and the multitude of forces constantly influencing and affecting change. The background is brushed aluminum and the foreground pieces are aluminum painted in opaque white as well as translucent blue with neon units sandwiched between, casting their distinctive glows of luminous color.

Points, Lines, Arcs Series

Points, Lines, Arcs Series

(EricEhlenberger)
The Point, Lines, Arcs Series of works are about the simplicity of line and form. Falling back to the basic forms of point, line and circle, these pieces mean to engage the viewer in contemplation of representation and relationships. The point is the represention of singularity and singularity, to the artist's view, is the representation of the self. It is the point of consciousness and awareness. The line represents movement or action but also may represent obstruction or boundary. Thus these sculptures play out a story of action and interaction taking place around a circle, the universal symbol of the world. They represent, in a minimalist fashion, the human condition. The use of color, in turn, adds an emotional content further open to interpretation.
Curvilinear Abstract Series

Curvilinear Abstract Series

(EricEhlenberger)
This group of sculptures emphasizes fluid, curvilinear forms, melodious and gentle in character. Ehlenberger uses light to emphasize relationships between the forms while his use of colors lends emotional impact to the work.
Our Lady's Beacon

Our Lady's Beacon

(BertRobertoSaenzD...)
On final approach to Manila- Ninoy Aquino Int'l Airport-Runway 06, airmen encounter an amazing "Beacon". The beacon appears to be a Crown of Our Lady of Fatima, floating in midair. It is actually a 3D Neon Lit crown sculpture, sitting atop a Catholic Church.
The project was a commission from the Parish Priest Father Virgilio Saenz-Mendoza, sponsored by Mrs. Greelie Remulla-Oposa whose family own the nearby Resort Hotel - Island Cove.
Never having seen how NEON would look like, inside a church, you might want to check out this "FIRST".
The indoor photos are the treatment we gave the altar in time for the yearly Dawn Mass Novena, that starts 9 days before Christmas, as well as for the Celebration of Midnight Mass!

Neon

Neon

(AlexTrommler)
This neon rooftop installation was a lot of fun to plan out and a relatively good amount of fun to make and then again a lot of fun to install.

It existed for the month of June 2006 on the roof of Harder Hall in Alfred, NY.

The First Christmas -Tableau

The First Christmas -Tableau

(BertRobertoSaenzD...)
Ten years ago, Nick Celdran, General Manager of the posh Tagaytay Highlands Golf and Country Club, requested us to provide them with a unique "One of a kind",outdoor Christmas display.
The result was this "First Christmas Tableau", a neon sculpture depicting the birth of the Child Jesus.
We were pleasantly surprised to find out that the work continues to be displayed yearly. As we had misplaced our file photos of the Tableau and wanted to display some Christmas works this year, we requested Mr. Marc P. Badillo, the Club's Special Services Manager, to assist us for a photo shoot.
Through the kindness of Mr. Badillo, we are able to show you the durability of NEON work, so long as it is properly maintained.

Does Santa Claus make par ???

Here's more on the NEON sculptures we executed for Tagaytay Highlands Golf and Country Club's, General Manager, Nick Celdran, in 1996.
At the Golf Clubhouse, we sculpted a Santa Claus on a sleigh (complete with golf bag and clubs). Unfortunately, when Mr. Marc P. Badillo, the present special Services Manager, accompanied us to retake photos (as we had misplaced our original ones), his men had not yet completed the installation of the Sta Claus. To tie the Reindeer to the sled, we use a thick strand of Christmas lights, which they had not yet finished installing, so we leave it to your imagination.

Christmas in Manila - A Medley

Christmas in Manila - A Medley

(BertRobertoSaenzD...)
In keeping with the spirit of the Christmas season, we are presenting a Medley of NEON Christmas decorations, sculpted over the past few years.
In our country, it is the custom to hang a Christmas lantern outside one's home. The lanterns are usually in the shape of a Star, to signify the spirit of Christmas lives in the hearts of those who reside within that home.
We are a predominantly Catholic country, and for us, a Highlight of the Season is a 9 day Novena, in preparation for the celebration of the birth of our Lord. Most of us walk the morning chill, enroute to Church for this novena, called "Misa de Gallo" or "Mass of the Rooster" as it starts at 4:30am. The walk to the Church is made much more pleasant when one sees the lanterns (called Parol in the vernacular) hanging from almost every home along the route.
Merry Christmas All!!!

these are installations i exhibited back in '96
sorry about the medium size of the pics
The insects migrate to our world; they land on neon lights, which in contrast to the charcoal’s supportive role, work competitive.
