commissioned pieces

commissioned pieces

(Circa1972)
This is a selection of jewelry pieces that were created with the person who commissioned each piece in mind. I ask my clients a series of questions, give myself a mental framework to work within, then create.

"Evergreen"

(TerryArmstrongHamra)
For those of us that like large. This one of a kind, tourch worked, kiln fired, sandcarved necklace has a touch of dichro for sparkle. The length of this piece os 19 inches from the latch to the longest dangle bead. All silver is sterling and the focal bead is 3 1/4 inches around. I've been working hard so Josh (Hot Hands) Hamra doesn't show me up.
Kilnformed Glass Pendant Necklaces

Kilnformed Glass Pendant Necklaces

These pendants are made in several steps. Most of them include design elements made either on the torch or with sifted glass powders. I use a "reverse painting" technique on transparent glass that places the design on the back of the pendant with multiple layers of transparent glass over the top. Each piece is ground and then fired to a polish, drilled, and fitted with a handmade sterling silver bail. They are strung on heavy-duty black rubber cord and finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp. Average length is 15".

After studying vintage resin fruit necklaces I was interested in making my own glass version. It took time to come up with the right combination of fruit to make a design that had the right color combination.

This necklace was made from one of my favorite glasses to fuse. I love the design in the glass and how it created a mini landscape. The fused cabachon hangs from a a dyed to match 18 inch leather cord. The closure is sterling silver, as well as, the pendant bail. You have a instant peice of glass art to wear!
