"Colorbar Murrine" Series

(dcartglassbyRober...)
These fused art glass pieces are from my most recent "Colorbar Murrine" series. There are approximately 730 handcut murrine and up to 80 murrine design combinations in each piece. Several of these pieces require up to 5 firings. Fused at a low temperature, each murrine keeps its distinct shape resulting in a weaved, textured appearance.

I made this work in late 2004. Consider them as record shots. I later use similar techniques to make my "River Delta Studies". Please go to that page and view my new (2006) work.
Warm regards,

Together with my wife we started with stained glass 6 years ago. Therefter we made some pieces of fused glass. Now we are fully concentrated on mold melted glass. It is really nice hobby.

The “channeled” series is some of my current work. The series incorporates glass beads that are used to stitch and connect two independent kilnworked pieces.

'Awning stripe' series

Remember the 'lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer?' I call this group 'awning stripe' because it reminds me of the canvas awnings people would use to shade their windows in the summer. These plates and jewelry are made by first fusing colorful stringers on a clear base, cutting them, and then re-forming them in a variety of ways. This first image is hot-hot-hot!

Glass Choices Float & Tempered Glass by Lisa Woodard

Glass Choices Float & Tempered Glass by Lisa Woodard

Float glass is just as exciting to work with as art glass.
The coke bottle green is refreashing and can be used to an advantage.
Tempered cicklets are a real hoot to fuse and the veins it leaves behind never come out the same.
Have Fun........Lisa
