Eye be Sparkling and Iridescent

Eye be Sparkling and Iridescent

(JMcghee)
Title: Eye be Sparkling and Iridescent
Size: 1 ¼ of an inch
By J McGhee 2006

This sparkling eye is made with custom mixed colors, in the sun this marble can really be mesmerizing to the eye…

The core color of this marble is a custom mixed color that is a sparkling sky blue, the equator row of silver beach the fades to the bottom back of the marble.
The front of the eye there are several layers of custom sparkling colors, lots of depth and sparkle to this wonderful eye. Wait till you get this marble in the sun and explore it in full detail…

I had a request for a couple eye marbles. I thought through a few different techniques to use to make them, and this was what I came up with in the first batch. I'm pretty stoked on them! they were really fun to make!!! I'll probably try out the other styles I was thinking of next time I hop on the torch!! I hope you like them!!!

Eyedea and Abilities.

Don't forget they can see you through your computer screen!!!

Here's some pics of the second set of eye marbles I made... some are better then others, and then there's a few other marbles that I made. There was 10 eyes from batch two.

Let me know what you think.... These are fun to set up in random places on little o-rings where people don't expect them... Medicine Cabinets, Pantry, next to the coffee table, or anywhere else that they'll catch someone off guard!!! He He He!!!

Aloha!!!

What better case than this to sell dragon-eye marbles in? My girl got this for me a while back from a flea-market and it's made from real snakeskin (I think python, possibly from SE Asia) ... there's a bit of a story around it but I won't bore you with the details. The short of it is that this is what I go to galleries with to sell my marbles (before I lose them). I kitted it out with nobby foam covered in black velvet. I absolutely love it ... it goes with my snakeskin belt and boots :P

sometimes the glass looks back at you ... and you could just blow ... but then you change your mind and do away with all the hollow promises an empty vessel can make and gather up a lump of glass and shape it round and make something solid and full bodied out of it. like this "Odalisque" marble, whose allure seems to come straight out of the 1001 arabian tales. silk on a hot summernights breeze ...
made from bits and bobs and odd ends, try-outs, farkups and friggins lying around on my table as I was cleaning up .... I never did clean up that day, but ended up with a whole bunch of marbles made and recycled from scraps.

How in the world do the real glass eye makers make them thin red vessel lines? A hollow and an eye vortex...

This one is 3 1/4" and features a ring of Starship dichro. The back is cobalt 5. It reminds me of the Eye of Sauron from The Lord of the Rings.
