Fume Flowers

(Anakin)
In the beginning, my obsession with marbles was fueled by John Kobuki and Sabina's flowers. As I developed some of my own designs, I got away from flowers. I've been spending some quality time lately trying to perfect flower techniques. At the same time, I'm trying to develop new styles and applications of gold and silver fume. I am quite happy with the results. Have a look. Lemme know what you think.

This marble is a collaboration between Eugene Oregon artists Michael Sorenson and Bashi. The features of this marble include-
Rose with stem by Michael, silver fumed reticello with a ruby background and Caramel/Amber Purple pinwheels by Bashi. Marble was donated to the annual Eugene Glass School art auction. 2''

Frosty the marble

(Route66GlassWorks)
This marble was inspired by the first, it was sandblasted with a window cut in the front to expose the implosion w/ marquis opal. Not to fond of the sandblast, but people seem to like it.

Passe Dix

(RAZ)
Passe Dix: game of chance..."Passe-dix is one of the, possibly the, most ancient of all games of chance, is said to have actually been made use of by the executioners at the crucifixion of our Saviour, when they parted his garments, casting lots, Matt. xxvii. 35.

Fumed Sunflower

(KevinNail)
This marble has nothing but gold and silver fuming giving it it's colors. This one captures the pastel spectrum that can be achieved from fuming in the base but the pedals have those nice transparent blues and greens. If you look close you can see the stripes of colors flowing over each pedal. Measures approximately 1 9/16" in diameter and is signed "KCN '06". $90 *SOLD*

I Love the effects of implosions. Flowers implosions are so beautiful. I can see how marble artists would get hooked on making these.

This one is 1 3/8".
