Hearts! Hearts! Hearts!

Hearts! Hearts! Hearts!

(PennyGentle)
I am never ready for Valentine's Day, so I have decreed heart beads to be a year-round requirement for a happy life. My newest heart beads have deeply encased flowers, which explode with color when the cold-worked hearts are seen on edge. Some of the newest beads are of a more organic nature, because I used silver leaf and reactive glass for the petals, and to be honest, I was totally surprised by each bead I made. The most enjoyable and productive work comes from losing oneself in the process, trying one thing which leads to another, and suddenly there is original work, beautiful and new to the artist (of course, any artist could come up with the same alchemy...I am not taking credit for anything except the ability to let myself be free and just play!) These beads are all cold-worked on the lapidary machine, which lives in my kitchen in lieu of a microwave, toaster or dishwasher...just the basics!!
More hearts, more fun!

One very organic heart didn't quite fit with the florals, so it is showing itself here. And just to stretch myself a little after so many floral beads, I made a few new beads, some colorful cold-worked discs which will make you smile!

This is a Gallery of some of my Focals. I sometimes find it hard to concentrate on making a set..my mind tends to wander. So by making Focals, I am hoping this helps with my focus.

Hope you like them! If you see anything you like you can find me on Ebay under the i.d. diana1375.

Weeping Cherry

I love trees! I have seen so many tree beads lately and they are gorgeous. So I decided to give it a go and try to make my own tree bead. This is my first....Weeping Cherry.

Whirligig

I was trying to copy my windy whirligig thingy and all was going great, layer after layer, till I ran out of gas.... So this is what I ended up with.

Spun Series

Spun Series

(JCHerrell)
These remind me of something spun. The colors look dyed like spun wool. They feel like spun pottery. They're bright... alive with color and texture. I feel like wildly, playful spinning the whole day away!!
Marble Lens Pendaant

Marble Lens Pendaant

(TokensGlass)
I call these marble Lens pendants because one of the last steps in creating this bead is to encase the entire bead with a lens. Not only does it help to magnify, but it also helps in the striking process. I wish so badly that I had more pics of this bead, but to my shagrin there is is only one.

Marble Twist Focal Pendant

Marble Twist Focal Pendant

(TokensGlass)
These pendants are the #1 pendant that most people request that I make for them. They are very popular! I make them in many colors and sizes sometimes I throw in some Dichroic Glass. They start out as a marble with a twist in the center, and then I just stretch and make a loop.

I have been making beads since April 2006. I realize that I have so much to learn. It's going to be a blast looking back at this and seeing how far I have progressed. Well, I hope that I'll have progressed...yikes! It's just a kick to be behind the flame! Enjoy! I welcome comments. I need all the help I can get!
Thank you for checking out my beads!

DOTS, DOTS, DOTS

DOTS, DOTS, DOTS

(CreditRiverArtGlass)
I've been reading about how different color combinations work w/ eachother on LE & just haven't been able to get enough of it. Dots are fun...so cool to lay them out in different patterns & see what they do.

This is my first attempt at trying to put a mini picture on a bead. The picture could be anything....For me it's the great outdoors. I used very fine glass stringers to put the picture on the bead. There is NO paint on this bead.

bead size 1-1/4 inch x 3/4 inch.

Here's another landscape bead. I have just started working with the real, real, real fine stringer and it can be very hard to control. But with practice I hope to get better. Thanks for looking.

Check out b-todd, on ebay.

"Secret Garden"

(BelindaTodd)
This is another one of the scenic beads I've made recently. I call it "Secret Garden" because back behind the trees there is a clearing that looks like a garden with a stone wall.

Red moon...

Red moon...

(Anastasia)
We won´t see the lunar eclipse here in Europe, which will turn the moon red...and the last one wasn´t visible due to clouds...so I thought I´m gonna make a red moon in glass;-)....
