Bridge, Warring States, and bumpy beads

(BelovedLampworkBeads)
Well, should be pretty obviouse that I am obsessed with making glass beads. I have only been doing it for three years, and it has taken over my life. One of my other main obsessions with lampwork is bumpy beads and bridge beads. These are some of them - thanks again for looking - Virginia
What am I?

What am I?

(BelindaTodd)
I started out making this really cool bead, loved the look. Then being the creative person that I am, I added a dab of red glass on the top of the bead. Yuk! From that point .....I don't know what happened. This is what I ended up with. I don't know what it is, haven't a clue....but I like it.

Thanks for stopping in, Belinda

Impressionist Landscapes

Impressionist Landscapes

(AnnaDuhame)
As it may be evident, I love landscapes...AND trees! Wouldn't you know that I also love Impressionist paintings? These are my own kind of hommage to the Impressionistic greats such as Monet, Manet, and Van Gogh....the thing is...these beads had no actual painting involved!
Bleeding Heart

Bleeding Heart

(BelindaTodd)
This is one of those beads that you know exactly how you want it to look and then you put the plan into motion.....end results-- not what I expected, but better.

For this heart I used silver foil, and ivory with just a tiny stringer of orange.

Sandwave

Lentil Shape Focal
One of my signature beads
Waves of Sand and Water crash upon the sandy shore while nautical shells wait for that "one" wave that will take them back out to their home: the sea.

Glen Canyon

Glen Canyon

(BeadsByTheBay)
Lentil Focal Bead
Glen Canyon has hues of salmon red, beige and a touch of blue. Most of my beads are organic and natured inspired. This bead was inspired by the splendor of Glen Canyon, Ut.

Bayou Flower

(BeadsByTheBay)
Lentil Focal
I live close to a bayou, here in Niceville, FL, and one day I saw flowers floating along the surface from a nearby azalea bush. This is my version!!

Lilac Shell

Shell Pendant Focal
I love creating shell beads but abstract ones. They look great hanging from a silver chain all by themselves! I also make smaller ones for matching earrings.

Palms

Here's something a little different from me.

This is a hollow focal bead with two spacer beads. I've only made a handful of hollows, so I was really pleased with the way this one turned out.

The focal bead was made for a Survivor bead game at WC. And because my guy won Survivor, I got the bead stash and my beads.
Way to go YUL!!

Thanks for looking.

I've discovered that I really like making hollow beads with this fabulous glass. By making the beads hollow, people can enjoy how wonderfully streaky this glass is by nature!
But certainly not least...

But certainly not least...

(ShannonHandel)
This is a spot for all the beads I currently have in my hot little hands but have no other catagories to put them in...reather than leave them all alone, wimpering in the cold by themselves, I've put them all here so they can party hard with each other!!
In Motion~On a Meditational Path

In Motion~On a Meditational Path

(SheilaM)
This figure is in a natural pose.
Inspired by the fact that we are all on our own path. I have been reading the book, "The Way of Zen" by Alan Watts since 1993 (Gulp-14 years!) over and over. A good friends Dad gave me that book. It has A LOT of information.First and most important is that it is almost impossible to explain the true meaning of Zen in the English language. (That might be why I have been reading it over and over.) When we think about what is good or bad, we are not in a Zen state. We can not meditate. Being in a Zen state is to rise above all things and just be. Free your mind of the "soap opera" of life. That means not causing problems for others, not looking into things too much! No point studying Zen if you are ganna throw negative energy into the world; you will NEVER get it, unless you practice it. It is only you in this space in your head. Nobody else. This is a figure in motion by herself. That is what we all are for real; alone.
That is what I have been thinking...

Somthing is blowing in the Wind...

Somthing is blowing in the Wind...

I have been drawing landscapes my whole life. My family would travel the Great Lakes around Michigan in the summer (Every summer from early childhood until age 19...for about 4 weeks). I would stare at the horizon and imagine where to start and end...then I would draw. I have drawings of almost everywhere I went. I think it is time to apply those experiences and thoughts to Lampwork. Be ready for more!
Thanks for looking.

Brazilian Dance

Brazilian Dance

(Suzanne-SJSjewelr...)
Once again I designed this necklace around the wonderful lampwork bead focal by Lisa New Designs. Once finished the colors and components reminded me of the colors in a Beautiful Brazilian Dancer's costume.
