An 8' by 8" wall on the lower portion gives the names of familys and businesses that have genereously donated funds to restore this beautiful building. The upper portion 4' by 14' also lists names of benefactors to this project. What a wonderful way to show thanks.

(MiroGlass)
My formal experience in graphic design and printing provides the foundation for my studio glass production. Presently I am working with design and function and avoid representational and conceptual intent. I am drawn to the study of past design movements, Mid 20th Century Atomic Age, Modernist and Pop Art and the early 20th century Art Deco, and Arts & Crafts movements. I am inspired by the simplicity and utility of the designs that appear in the daily life of diverse human cultures, particularly Native American, African and Japanese. My creative process involves losing myself in in the medium I am working in, pushing my cognitive mind out of the way, exploring the nature of the medium and allowing it to direct my work. As a member of the Glass Alliance-New Mexico I am actively involved in promoting the medium and educating the public about its functional uses.

Silo Series II

My work investigates rhythm and motion. I am currently investigating how emotional tension is magnified in the rhythm of our movements. My sculptural work and wall art is both figurative and abstract – often combining the two. The glass is alternately the figure and the effect of motion in our physical and mental space as the figure moves through that space. I use varied levels of translucency and opacity along with varied surfaces to help define the juxtaposition of rhythm and emotion.

I am also an architectural designer spending each day at the intersection of art, architecture, and design. The differences are of scale and technical requirement. With sculpture, I seek to express and influence emotion. Architectural design is sculpture on a larger scale where a smaller audience experiences the sculpture intimately from within and without and over time periods of days, weeks, and years. With sculpture I can be provocative; with architecture I need to evoke the positive emotio

Glass & Steel

Glass & Steel

(UriDavillier)
My recent work has been a study of the interaction between the human body, and compounded assemblages that become environments. I have juxtaposed massive steel machine parts against delicate details, to create work that shares its space with its audience and engages them at multiple scales. With this in mind, I envision my work as moving towards elaborate spatial compositions of objects plucked from their native contexts and rearranged to form compositional narratives.

first post from my new account.. for some reason both my glasspipes and glassartists galleries were deleted?!?!? talk about repeditive work.. I was about sick of making lampworked ribbons at the end of the day.. a gift for my amatuer florist mother.. kinda aloe vera plant like structure.. a lb and half of chinese color was used.. all the leaves/vines have 4" glass stakes in the dirt, holding them in place.. might go back and make a few more to fill the gaps..

HELLO FROM SERBIA !

Steined glas for Serbian
ortodox church

Pozdrav iz Srbije.
Imam tu cast i zadovoljstvo da radim vitraze na hramu Svetog proroka Ilije na Palicu, jednom predivnom hramu koga zovu biser eparhije Backe. Na hramovnoj slavi, 02.08.2007.godine... Preosvestenstvo dr.
