Lit Wall Sconces

Lit Wall Sconces

(LindemannGlass)
These wall sconces are glass attached to a steel frame. I weld the frame and then attach the glass pieces. I'm having a lot of fun with these and since I have lots more ideas I'm planning to make more.

Mermaid with Sunken Pirate Ship Stained Glass Window

This window is an original from our studio
Stained Glass Heirlooms

This magnificent window full of details and excellent quality. It has antique jewels in the treasure chest that are at least 80 plus years old. The mermaid's face and hand, octopus, starfish and skull have been hand painted and kiln fired so the enamels become part of the glass and will last forever. The scales on the mermaid's body, dolphins swimming in the distance and the sea horses are sand carved with multi-staging to give the appearance of being realistic. The dolphins, sea horses and the ship will change their appearance as the light changes through out

sandcast glass modules mounted on wooden wall with backlighting.
Each module has a ground and polished lense through which the "resting" visitor can look into the inner-glass-world. In there she/he will find mysterious lines of words apparently with no meaning.
Keep resting, keep reading. Nothing is as it appears...

I really enjoy making goblets. Maybe it has something to do with how much fun people have using them. Some of these are a few years old some are more recent. I've been going with the hollow stems in order to make full use of what lamping has to offer.A few shop pics to boot.
Delta Study Door

Delta Study Door

(AndrewBrott)
These are my designs for a "River Delta" front entry door for a private residence. This artwork will be made of 1/2" thick, heavily textured, kiln fired glass; held in place and protected by a copper and steel frame. Large glass sections will transmit light in throughout the day, and will provide a stunning front entry in the evening. It mounts directly to the existing door, but can be removed and taken by the client. These designs and concepts are copy written, and are my property. They may not be used or copied in any fashion without my express written consent,

I am using hundreds of glass jewels inside a steel frame, covered in copper foil, and soldered into place. Thanks to this site, my client can follow along as her sculpture is completed.

Sunhawk Window

Sunhawk Window

(ThistleGlass)
Featured in Natural Home Magazine (Nov/Dec 2004), the Sun Hawk House is a solar powered wonder built by John Schaeffer and his wife Nancy Hensley, founders of Real Goods Solar Living Institute in Hopland, CA. I constructed the window in the Sun Hawk's front door.
A little note...there are 144 pieces in the tail feathers (center of the window), after that, I lost count! This window measures 38" x 27".

I worked as a studio tech, but primarily as an installer and repairman (master glazier) in the stained glass trade for 25 years The majority of my bigger pieces incorporate salvaged glass from church jobs, I worked on different times on Taffany, La Farge, Gorham, Meyer, and at one time FOR J&R Lamb. On the morning I walked into Montgomery Ward and saw two acres of exquisite chinese Tiffany lamps for less than I could buy the glass, I gave up on the manufacture of autonomous pieces . The industry became too cutthroat in the late 80's with the immaculate conception of "experts" who as in many fields, armed with a shief of imaginary credentials, and a mouth full of slander and pen full of libel, established themselves as the arbiters of process. I found a nice niche market making architectural pieces for downtown revitalization projects.

I just completed this U.L. listed Blown Glass Sculpture for a private residence in Minnesota. This is the first posting of the 5 new Chandeliers we just completed this past January 07. Many thanks to James (Jimmy) Ronner for all of his hard work!!!! He not only constructed all 5 metal frames (I helped a little), but his design input and glass blowing assistance helped make this happen. This, as with all of my work has been Copywritten and may NOT be reproduced in any fashion without my express written consent.

This is a set of two 28" x 28" x 48" U.L. Listed Blown Glass Sculptures, for Crave Restaurant in Edina Minnesota, which opened February 1st 2007. They are part of my "Satsuma" and "Basket" Series. Crave's kitchen just began to function while we were installing 3 of our 5 Chandeliers, and the food was fantastic!!! Their kitchen features a wood fired oven, a complete sushi bar, and an extensive wine list. Owners Kam and Keyvan Talebi know what they are doing, and impressed the hell out of this fussy New Orleanian. Crave is located at Galleria, 3510 W. 70th St., Edina Mn.
