I have taken a number of workshops from Robbin over the last 3 years and it changed the way I approached the medium and my subject matter. I highly reccomend a workshop for anyone who would like to take their art and techniques to a higher level.

Jennifer and I had the time of out lives at this year's flame-off. Please enjoy some of the pics. We will add more as they come. Congrats to all the contestants. The work was stellar. Really showed lampworkers pushing the limits.

(Slinger)
yea i dont make too many mibs anymore simply because i think its a pain in the ass to round em off.... love doing the designs, hate the tediousness of using marble molds to make it "perfectly" round... been there dont that, but hadnt done that in a minute, so i hit it, might hit it a few more times, then quit for some next shit...

Our new gallery is almost finished. The pics of course never give the original subject justice makes it kinda look small and in one shot like the floor is askew. The floor I think turned out very well though(stained it my self) Just have a few more things to acomplish-light socket covers, paint touch up and this and that. A new tinted window coming next month some time will look out into the glass studio that is adjacent to the gallery so customers can shop and watch. thanks for checkin it out, and we hope to be back up and running by mid Jan.

These are pictures from a demo I did on January 28th, 2006 at Blue Moon Glass in Austin, Texas. Once a month a group of glass enthusiasts from the area (the Fireflys) get together to chat and watch a demo. It was a great group of people, and I had a fantastic time. Thanks Jim!
Sonoran Glass Academy Flame-Off 2006

Sonoran Glass Academy Flame-Off 2006

(JonesArtGlass)
Here we go again!!!! It was another exciting year in Tucson. The whole team at the Sonoran Glass Academy did a great job of organizng the event. The planning and coordination of 24 lampworkers, different torches, set-ups everything. It all went so smoothly and each year it gets better and better. I got pics of all the finished pieces and I'll add the names as I have match them up from my notes. Flame-offs are an excellent way to showcase your talents as well as see what your colleauges are up to. The Sonoran Flame-off draws competitors from all over the nation so it was a varied event. Marbles, marbles runs, vessels, anythong you can think of. Thanks again to David Morden, Alex the super cool table girl, Eli Aller for helping us set up so smoothly and all the rest of the "red hats" that put this thing together.

DUH!!!! I forgot my main man on the local scene Andy Ray, from "Galactic Glass" !!!!! Big Ups !!
