This show is one that we are involved in every year. It benefits loggerhead sea turtles and the patrol that cares for their nests in the region. It is held at First St. Gallery in Atlantic Beach Fl.
Murrini Stone

Murrini Stone

(AlexUbatuba)
Another version of the murrini paperweight. The flat paperweight is now sculpted to feel like a stone polished by the river. These pieces look fantastic on an office desk, the stone shape has interesting optic qualities. 9-05

AGI-o5 Geode Colab - Andrew Brown and Nathan Miers

AGI-o5 Geode Colab - Andrew Brown and Nathan Miers

(EyeCandyArts)
Here is a boro geode that Andrew Brown and I worked together on during AGI 2005. I made the center marble of this piece, a window series dichro backed wigwag, and Andrew then took it and coated it with tons of layers of GA's Amazon Series Frit. After it was annealed, Andrew applied some of his coldworking skills and ground the face and bottom smooth. I recently bought a LED light base for the bottom and it's a stunning effect from glass as bright colored light shine through the dichro and out the front of the piece. Pics can do no justice to the light show.

This one has a large anemone type creature featured. The jellyfish is nice but was impossible to photograph. 2 inch.
All pictures are of one marble.

Nature Wins Again <Part 1>

Nature Wins Again <Part 1>

(StratisphereGlass...)
Trigger fish school on tube sponges. One of the larger sculpture pieces I've done. Wasn't really sure how it was all going to come together untill I found the old propeller. Keep an eye out for more of the Nature Wins Again series......
Paperweight

Paperweight

(XL)
Honeycomb paperweight using some millies by me. They're pretty easy to make, just take some 4mm rod and create an octagon shape, then fume it and encase it in clear. That's the rough explanation. If anyone wants details, anyone is welome to write me an email for help in any subject or technique. Just throw me an email. This is the biggest paperweight I've made yet. It was a gift for my girlfriend. It took a lot of energy going into it. I started off with flattening 32mm rod into a patty the size of Mars. Cool. So this one is truly special. End product is almost 4in. wide and 2in. tall.

This is one of my personal favorites. It was really hard trying to get this image. At the end, I still could not get a good shot the way I see it. Thanks for looking.

This is the second really big reduction ratticello, It becomes a chore after a pound of glass for 1/2 hour(feel the burn baby)...this is a big achievement. I'm really stoked with how this came out. 3" by 1 1/2".
Thank you for looking.

I've been making a ton of these lately. Here is part of the run. Sorry I rushed the pics (reflections), didn't have too much time to mess with the photo booth at the shop.

These are some of the first soda lime glass peices that I made at Red Oak Glass studio in Central Poing Oregon. I had been expirimenting with interior design and came up with some interesting jellyfish. Have a look!

Red Oak glass produces a variety of amazing lamps; I am yet to find any hot glass studio that makes lamps quite like these, so CHECK THEM OUT AT WWW.REDOAKGLASS.ORG
