Walls are interesting things. Sometimes they seem to come from nowhere. They block people physically, socially, politically, financially, emotionally and in so many other ways. They keep some people in and other people out. Walls are meant to get in the way. Many walls may seem be bad news at first but I've found they can also lead to interesting opportunities that may not have been seen if the wall didn't make me stop and turn around. Walls can also be decorated and hold art. Walls themselves can be art. They can hold treasures and provide protection. Walls have been around a long time, but have changed relatively little. Walls are interesting.
I love Glass

I love Glass

(ManuelaWutschke)
Making beads is such a wonderful way of life - I'm learning every day something new about glass and hope that it will never end keeping me busy working somewhere “between Earth and Heaven” for the next years. I'm just happy.

Some pics from my studio!

November fire...

November fire...

(Anastasia)
...Long November nights enlightened by bonfires...the ground sprinkled with sleet and frosted...but still sunny, occasionally...it´s a magical time, caught in the middle of fall and winter...
Tide pools...

Tide pools...

(Anastasia)
...This is what happens when looking at tide pool pictures too much;-)...I tried to capture their depth and a hint of the possibility, that nature might have hidden a surprise in there...
GHOST.DANCE

GHOST.DANCE

(Beadnik)
In dance-class we were talking about the next performance and worked on some difficult parts of the choreography. Some moves reminded me on Native Americans and their fantastic dancing spirits: Here you can see the stage resplendent in turquoise and dichroic with lots of handmade murrinis dancing around.
Cyanea...

Cyanea...

(Anastasia)
...This is kind of the shadow of a jellyfish...When I saw my first stinging jellyfish as a kid, I had no idea what it was, but in its beauty it looked like a creature from a fairytale. My next encounter wasn´t that pleasant...lol...
Orange valley...

Orange valley...

(Anastasia)
...There´s a valley on Mallorca full of orange trees, which are right now loaded with fruits, orange spots glowing in the green. Normally there´s a small antique train going through the valley, which was broken when I was there...so I just followed the track by car, which had the advantage of being able to stop everywhere to take a walk in the shade of orange trees...
Cornflower seeds...

Cornflower seeds...

(Anastasia)
...Too early in the year for cornflowers? I have a picture in my mind of cornflowers sitting in their seeds dug deep into the earth, and waiting for some sun...
Coral reef...

Coral reef...

(Anastasia)
...It´s been a while since I made corals, I almost forgot how much fun it is to play with whimsical shapes like that... Taking pictures of this color combo, on the other hand...;-)...well, I tried...
Lemon grass...

Lemon grass...

(Anastasia)
...Actually "Lemon grass" is the name of the green in this set...a Vetrofond oddlot. I just adopted the name for the beads. It`s a wonderful color, and I find myself using up rod after rod...
Whale watching

Whale watching

(Anastasia)
I´ve been happy to see some whales recently, and put this into glass...
Amazon...

Amazon...

(Anastasia)
...from above...rivers and green patches of tropical rainforest...
Sunny flowers...

Sunny flowers...

(Anastasia)
I love sun colors right now, yellow, orange, red...to make up for the real sun which is missing...
