Landscapes and Goddesses
(
SheilaM
)
I really enjoy using my shorts to create cane to make flowers and latticino. After studying with Loren Stump, I know many ways to do this. I am using the cane to make landscapes that are dream-like. And the Goddess; My favorite relief to create.
(August 2007)
Peace.
Latticino Landscapes
(

Very inspired by the colorful bead makers in the art glass community; Sara Hornick, Trey Cornette...and more! One of my biggest struggles is, making things "pretty"; I get wrapped up in the meaning.
I am very happy with this series. I am happy to say it has been well received; thank you!
Geisha Pendants October 2007
(
TracyJerrellAkhtar
)
As the weather gets cooler my torchworking days draw to a close, the Hothead goes into hibernation until the Spring thaw... *sniffle*
So here are some of my latest bead creations, I've been spending most of my time making beads instead of jewelry.

Koi Pond Geisha
Koi means love also, not just a type of fish. One of the meanings of the Japanese name Ren is love, romance so thought it a fitting name.
Boogie down n Funky town
(

Having fun!
Yes, inspiration is the savior! What would we do without our everyday experiences? And, now, here...so inspirational.
R... Sarah Hornick's "Funky town" set? And my Boogie down beads? I have been wanting to try this out for a while...10-2007
The Candy Goblin
(
ElijahCopeland
)
Here is one of the faces that I've been making lately. I won second place at the Flame-Off this year in the wearables category with a pair of these. I donated those peices to the Eugene Glass School and they will be at the auction this weekend. Thanks for looking.

Halloween Geisha 2007
(
TracyJerrellAkhtar
)
Starting in 2006 I began creating special limited edition holiday geisha for Halloween and Christmas. Last year was my candy corn geisha and this year the design is a witch geisha with a bubbling cauldron of green witch's brew. Only 2 were created this year and this specific design will never be recreated.
Mice from Space
(

)
I finally found my signature bead. I've designed this pattern for my alien bead exchange in L.E. I hope it brings a smile in your face because it is a great joy to sculpt them :)

Raw Goddess on a segmented bead
(
SheilaM
)
I was thinking about architecture, and segmented beads, and the Goddess just appeared. She appears as if she has given up, and sometimes I think she is sacrificing herself. Hm...this one is open for your interpretation.
Family beads celebrating the family of four
(
SheilaM
)
The re-make of the family of four. After mailing a bead to the wrong place, at the wrong time, I have now made two beads to replace my accident....so, these are those.
January 2008
Butterfly Heart Focal Beads
(
AdielGarrison
)
I donate purple heart beads pretty frequently to Beads of Courage. So I am making heart beads a lot. The program also needs butterflies donated for the parents of the cancer patients who pass on. So I sort of meshed the two together in one bead. It is meant to give to the patient as a badge of courage and triumph. The butterfly heart symbolizes the transformation that has taken place in the patients life. They have overcome a great sickness called cancer and at the same time have been reborn.
Megalodon Shark Tooth
(
FinisGlass
)
*6 more teeth added to page.This is my first fossilized Megalodon Shark tooth. I am going to do a whole series of these. Hand mixed my own color for bone. *Influences for teeth: The Blanska's

Backyard Blossoms
My parents both have quite the green thumb. Seeing as I don't, I decided to photograph their handiwork.
