Torchin with the stars
(
SheilaM
)
Thanks to a friend on LE (Bernadette Fuentes) I was inspired to make my own star cane and add some stars to these people beads I can not stop making... I just LOVE to create concepts in my beads with people.
Meditation
(
SheilaM
)
I am fascinated with the human form and sculpting it. I try to sculpt forms that reference thoughts that I find to be positive. Even though, I myself have a hard time turning the thoughts off in my brain. I like to be reminded to at least try.
Meditation is a good thought.
Crescent moon Silhouette
(
SheilaM
)
I am so obsessed with this special tequilla orange and this transparent cobalt. This is such a beautiful contrast. The crescent moon Goddess can be seen from behind, a shadow of the silhouette...
Graceful Odalisque
(
SheilaM
)
Just a tilt of the head and all I could think of was the word, "Graceful".
thanks for looking! I threw a couple more pictures of other "odalisque's" in here too.
Crescent moon Goddess Meditation
(
SheilaM
)
Celebrating the beauty of the female form and meditation. This is one of the larger figures I have been sculpting lately. You will be seeing some larger work coming from me.
Thanks for looking,
2-1/8" tall x 1-1/8" wide
Enjoy!
Hippie chick sister...
(
SheilaM
)
The hippie is a difficult form to sculpt (for me). Most end up with a crack in the head? This one came out nice. On e bay this week of June. Enjoy! Peace murrini and a sculpted heart emphasize Peace and Love...
such a good idea.
Elegance for the jeweler
(
SheilaM
)
I really love elegance. My studio is elegant. While I am well on my way to requiring more money for health insurance...I have decided to start making beads specifically for the jewelry making peoples. (Yes, I know, what an "original" idea, lol) I will be creating elegant focals with matching sets.
Thanks for looking, and check back by July, I will have lots of elegance to share. Thank you!
Fire and Ice Inspiration
(
SheilaM
)
I have a habbit for making art for all kinds of art shows and then not sending them in the mail. This is my Fire and Ice sculpture/ beads? I think it is just ascuplture with a hole. She is Goddess of Ice and the opalino glass is representing a fire with rocks. I see my work getting to be more about sculpture and less about beads, or more about beads and less about sculpture...we'll see?
Large Soul Gestures
(
SheilaM
)
Combining some traditional soft glass techniques, and some sculptural techniques is interesting me. So, I have a transparent cobalt base, with silver foil burnished over that, and rubino d'oro strings of glass, topped off with a really expensive transparent cobalt special something? The bead itself consists of techniques that I learned from reading tutorials by Michale Barley. The figure is created using hot glass relief techniques I re-invented, I suppose... This piece is the beginning to something. The third of its kind. I am Proud to say, it Sold fast at its first show. Along with another one that is similar (to a collector from Canada).
What an honor...when someone is excited about the work.
Really helps to keep me going! Thank you, and Enjoy!
Large sexy lady on a bead!
(
SheilaM
)
Something about becoming one with a meaningful object, that is so SPECIAL! If only her soul could feel as special as that bead is to her....
hm...yes... little bit conceptual; maybe too personal...
I don't know? I will have to work on explaining this one.
~*Bara*~
(
TracyJerrellAkhtar
)
Bara means rose or rosebush in Japanese. Inspired by a colossal rose bush I saw in Tombstone, Arizona. This rose bush is so large, it's held up by supports and you can walk underneath while it spreads out like a canopy over your head.
~*Doris the Mermaid*~
(
TracyJerrellAkhtar
)
A mermaid based loosely on a painting I did about 4 years ago. In the painting, I have a mermaid with a black bottom half instead of the usual green/blue and her tail is flipping up behind her. So here's a mermaid with a black tail decorated with silver and reactive glass.
Hippie with a face try 2
(
SheilaM
)
A process that I am still working on....sculpting the murrini into a face on a hippie chick. This is try 2.
introduced to the flame 3 times. most likley a three hour bead?
Enjoy!
Guardian Angels
(
R.G.Glass
)
This is the second attempt at creating a pair of figures, Angels, on one mandrel, one bead. Soft glass, gold-fumed. they are connected at the hips, shoulders and heads.
Landscapes and Goddesses
(
SheilaM
)
I really enjoy using my shorts to create cane to make flowers and latticino. After studying with Loren Stump, I know many ways to do this. I am using the cane to make landscapes that are dream-like. And the Goddess; My favorite relief to create.
(August 2007)
Peace.

Autumn, 2006 sets
Brown seems to be the hot color this year, and that rocks because I really love it. Here are a few of the sets I've made these past few months.
