Japanese style necklace made of Tonbodama

Japanese style necklace made of Tonbodama

(AyakoHATTORI)
One of my customers made the necklace. She buys my beads, makes necklaces and sends me photos. She uses the technique called "Asian Knot." It is originally from Eastern Asia. I would like to introduce Japanese jewelry making to Western world.
(Tonbodama is Japanese style glass beads.)

Honored!

Honored!

(L.BazCreations)
I was recently honored to have been included in the Good Things / Small Packages Exhibit at Public Works in San Francisco and in Santa Cruz. The catalogue is gorgeous and includes incredible work by incredible artists - a great addition to any glass library. I'm so thrilled to see my work on those pages!

(AyakoHATTORI)
Akihiro Ohkama has wonderful skills of Japanese and Western style Lamoworks. He introduces Japanese style to Western world, Western style to Japan. You could see more his works at his own gallery.
He is very good teacher also. I attended his class sometimes. I admire him so much!

HOG - Encased Floral Focals

(HeartsOfGlass)
Welcome to our Floral Focal Page! Florals are my passion and main focus as an artist. I love the depth and elegance that can be achieved, and that's what I aim for in my pieces. I'm really happy with some of my recent pieces and I can't wait to see what comes out of the kiln next!

3-in-1 Gallery

(StarlightDesigns)
These are large focal beads using a 3-beads-in-1 technique that I developed. The center portion usually features an encased floral theme with striped cane "endcaps" on the top and bottom, most often finished with goldstone rims around the edges.

Ogura Wakana makes lovely floral beads and jewelry. I love delicacy and sweetness in her art works. Her bead express beauty of Japanese seasons.
She is junior partner of Akihiro Ohkama in his studio.

Watercolour florals

Watercolour florals

(LesleyMcFarland)
I love florals and I love the watercolour or painterley effects you can achieve with glass and enamel. I am constantly experimenting with new techniques in order to get different effects. These are a few of the recent styles I have been working on. I hope you like them.
Japanese New Year Beads 3

Japanese New Year Beads 3

(AyakoHATTORI)
Here is another my New Year bead. It is one of very typical flower arrangement for New Year. I know lily is not traditional Japanese flower, but it is very popular now. We need some bright and sweet flower on dim winter day. We arrange lily with some Japanese traditional new year items. I arranged pink and white lilies with sarcandra glabra.
Landscapes

Landscapes

(AnnaDuhame)
I love to make landscapes..."pai... with glass". These beads are a magical concoctions of glass colors, frits, enamel powders and pure silver. They combine to create a landscape that calls to you and wants you to come explore.
African Iris

African Iris

(AyakoHATTORI)
In last New Year holiday, I visited Australia. I found the flower on the road near Melbourne. I don’t know the name exactly, but I think it is African Iris. It is not native Australian, but I made the bead because it is beautiful.
Lily bead

Lily bead

(AyakoHATTORI)
In Japan we usually make bead jewelry with leather code. So our tonbodama usually has a hole from side to side. But in Western world you make jewelry of bead with hole from top to bottom. I think it must be good for pendant. Then I try one.
And my American friend suggested that white flower on purple must be beautiful. How do you think of it?

Graffiti Garden Conservatory

Graffiti Garden Conservatory

(GraffitiJewlery)
This is the newest in a series of floral themed pieces for my spring line.

The orchids actually stand out from the background in a relief. Matching earrings incorporate jade rounds that I actually purchased from a bead shop above the flower shop pictured in the collage...in Kunming China 06

Flower Pendants

Flower Pendants

(DanCoyle)
These pendants are backed with Black Violet, the larges one is 1 1/4" diameter. Thanks to Chris Roesinger for the pendant workshop last January, it helped me out alot.
