2005 - 05 "#3"

(AndrewBrown)
This piece is #3 in a series that Troy Bennett and I are working on..I have to say in a lot of ways this ones my favorite yet.. Troy managed to pack a bunch of gold fumed dots in this one... This coldworked paperweight features a dynamic fumed organic flower on the inside, with a ton of detail and color. The dome shape accents the amazing flower shape inside, and the window cut reveals layers of blues, greens, ambers and reds. The outside has been heavily textured giving this piece a freshly dug up look.. The base has a small window into the bottom giving it an incredible look when held against a light, also a side view of the flower. This larger weight measures in at 3.5" tall and 2.25" wide.. Thanks for looking

2005 - 05 "Uranium Opal Geode"

(AndrewBrown)
This oval shaped geode features a fumed uranium honeycomb, with a brilliant white opal in the center. The curved window reveals layers of blues, ambers, and yellows. Behind the honeycomb is a layer of green gold, and red dichroic glass. The outside has a natural texture, that has been fumed with gold for a metalic effect. The piece measures 2.9"w x 1.5"h. The blacklight glow is hard to capture in a photograph, still working on that. Thanks for looking...

2005 - 07 "Amonite"

(AndrewBrown)
This is a larger "specimin" version of the amonite pendants that i have made in the past. The face of the piece has been ground and polished to reveal the fossil like inside. The inside has bands of irridescent fumed frit, and blue gold splintered dichroic glass running underneath. The beveled edge gives this piece a lot of depth when viewed at different angles. The backside has been heavily textured, with frit and fumes, to mimick a unearthed fossil. it measures 3.25" tall and 2.45" wide ....Thanks for looking...

2005 -12 "opal eye #2"

(AndrewBrown)
Testing out a grey/ black backgound for taking pictures.. still have a little tweaking to do.. This is a request from a customer for another opal eye geode weight.. I changed this one up a bit and used some different colors.. the dichro is hidden in the background and pops from certian angles. There is a pear shaped gilson opal in the middle of a fumed lotus.. the layers of color include blue moon, ns yellow, and a mix of frits and fume for the outside....

2006 - 03 "copper encrusted meteor"

(AndrewBrown)
This paperweight looks and feels like it fell from space. Frits and powders were used to create the many layers of yellow, blue, red , and organic tan. The piece was coldworked to reveal the blooming space lotus on the inside. The lotus style implosion holds a large white pear shaped gilson opal in the center. The outside has been coldworked to a smooth finish and then electroformed with copper. The heavily textured copper ranges in color from metallic red to a shimmering blue. This piece measures 2.25"

2006 - 05 "Back-lit Opal Collab"

(AndrewBrown)
One more from the last time Troy Bennett and I got together. This one features a carved and electroformed raked relief on the back. The large cut face reveals a pear shaped gilson opal set over intricate fumed patterning. When held to a light, or put on a light base this one really glows...approx 3".
