the pics are kinda washed out -but the details are great.- i forgot to put the roses in her hand when i took the pictures --they're removable for shipping purposes and add are nice touch--she has a bow on the back of her skirt and he's got a top hat and tux on- these two are really one of a kind

Chauvet Pont-D'Arc Goblet

This goblet was inspired by the Chauvet Pont D'Arc caves in France where there are cave drawings over 30,000 years old. This particular goblets inspiration cane from the Brunell cave where the calcized skull of an ibex was found with mastadon tusks.
Goblet is 14 inches tall.

An experiment in torch assembling lamped and furnace elements. The idea was to do something that can only be done at the furnace (Reticello) and something which can only be done at the lamp (the bust) in the same piece.

Goddess Goblet - A New Life

So we just found out that my wife Shelly is pregnant. It was on April fools day, so that was fun to let our families know.
I am so excited! Yesterday I made our child's first gift. I will probably give it to him/her when they are out of highschool or something like that. I'll be able to say that I made it for them the day after I found out we were going to have them.
It was fun to make it. I used it as a chance to really meditate on what it will be like to be a father and how much of a gift it is. So I put a lot of good energy into this piece.

There are a few things wrong with it that I decided not to fix. For one, everyone has a few problems, it adds character. And another reason is that when I was getting towards the end, two raccoons started fighting (or making crazy rough love) above my shop in a storage loft. I ran out and dealt with them. Now it will become part of the story that goes along with the glass.

So I hope you like it. I've never done a Goddess style before, but

Here is a Small Goblet set and Graal Wine Carafe from the Mickelsen graal class I attended last fall. Smaller than usual, this set is made for habitual offenders of the "Drink-and-Dash" visit. BTW, this is the same set that is featured on my Art Card offered by R4 Glass Studios.

The first piece is an ode to the fore runner of our fast food nation, the drive-up restaurant waitress. Here she is pictured in all her roller skating glory, delivering to your overweight belly a healthy meal of about 50 burgers, hotdogs, fries and sodas. MMMMMMMMMM.....en... 10.5" tall

The second piece is pretty self explanatory. Gas mask, AK47, tattered black flag, 9 oil barrels and 11 bombs. 20" tall

Re-mix of a low-rider vessel made in 2006. Lampworked. Side View mirrors are found. The emblem is heavy silver fume over peacock and then resisted. I want to thank Slinger for hooking the emblem stencil up. 22 x 17 x 4 inches.
