Well this started out as a jar, but I haven't been able to find a cork big enough to fit it so I thought....hmmmm.... candle votive! I think it looks really neat and wish I had made a set of them. Oh well next time!
Around the base is a bangle that is not attached but I thought accented the bottom well. I bought the bangles as a set at a fleamarket in NC a few years back. The woman seemed to think they were from Mexico. They are a turquoise opalesent glass bangle surrounded by some type of silver metal that is stamped with fillagree and dragon type designs. In the center on each is a triangle with an eye in the middle. Anyone have any clue where they could be from?

I had alot of square bevels and decided to make this simple yet elegant candle holder. It measures six and a half inches high and sits on three glass jewels.
Soft Glass with Thomas Muller Litz

Soft Glass with Thomas Muller Litz

(AmezcuaManuel)
These are some pics from a class I took last August with Thomas Muller Litz of Lauscha, Germany. Thomas is a yodeling, blues piano playing ACDC fan. Working with soft glass was weird at first, after a few hours of pulling points and flaring goblet feet I got it down and was able to come through with some functional pieces. Thomas is a good teacher and a good person, if you ever get the chance to work with him take it. Thank you for taking the time and intrest in viewing my work!

"Turtles in the Blue"
