New Pick ups.

(AlexUbatuba)
It's been awhile, new pieces with clusters of murrini, cannes, "orbs", and fused patterns. These are the first two "experiments", more complex designs and elegent form to come. I've never done fusing before, there are all of these new possibilities for surface decoration.

This very large glass vase stands about 32" tall and is hand painted with self-curing glass enamels. It is a commissioned piece, designed for a north woods home and a lover of nature. If you look closely at the photo, you will see a bear stepping through the shadows.

You know how some pieces just hang around for a long time? Kinda like they're meant to stay with you? Then one day you make that decision and it becomes something you don't want to get rid of. This is one of those. I think it's cute. I would n't give it up for a million bucks.

These are the peices I made at the Robert Mickelsen Workshop at Revere Glass Academy. I had an awesome time there. Everyone made me feel comfortable and there endless demos by RAM, and Suellen Fowler. Dustin, who is on a distinguished path, is bringing in world famouse artists to teach at his studio. This is a great place to take a class. Check out their schedule.

this vessel is made of Trautman Red Elvis, and Amber Elvis solid coil pot sections. I intentionally left the Amber sections mostly unstruck because I loved the color but this color can achieve a variety of hues from yellow to purlpe to dark amber..

Art Nouveau Face Vase

Art Nouveau Face Vase

(Ech)
Much of the psychedelic art that adorned concert posters in the 60's was based on the Art Nouveau movement. This style of psychedelic art persists among the jambands of today. Being an old psychedelic ranger myself I guess its only natural that I've been strongly attracted images such as this as content for graal.
