Glass combined with Kumi Himo

Kumi Himo is the art of Japanese Braiding. It is done on a doughnut shaped loom with 8 or more strands of fiber and or strings of glass beads. The strands of fiber and beads are attached to wooden spools with a rubberband to hold them in place. (I will attach a picture of the loom at a later date.) I recently learned how to do it from one of my friends and had my husband build me a loom. I decided I liked Kumi Himo enough to justify my husband spending all that time building me a loom.

Honeycomb marble

Here is a honeycomb marble I made at AGI to demonstrate that honeycombs "really do" grow in the kiln. This one is a little over 1 1/4in. and for sale
