Skull & Trilobite Neck Spines

By Jonathan Paul Bennett. This comes from some of my original work of showing the similarities of trilobites and the human spine. I replaced the neck spines with trilobites to show this amalgamation. These two sculptures are sets I made with custom stands. The first set is a trilobite next to a skull and trilobite neck spine. Made with colors rust and aurora. The second set is a trilobite next to a skull and trilobite neck spine with two trilobites upon the skull. Made with the color aurora. As a *Bonus* this time I threw in a sculpture titled "Schismatic". Two skull and neck spines on a custom stand dispaying them side by side. One made with aurora and the other made with onyx & aurora. Thank you for looking and enjoy. *Photography by Shannon Williams.

Imagery in Torchwork. May 17-21

I am teaching a 5-day intensive @ the Pittsburgh Glass Center from May 17-21. The class will focus on my style and techniques of sandblasting images onto borosilicate glass. We will explore the whole process of choice and design of images, including using Photoshop and Illustrator, creating photo resist stencils, and creating blown vessels to apply images to. I recommend at least a year on the torch experience. If we get enough people to sign up, i plan on having my man DWRECK be the special guest TA! This will be the only formal class i plan on teaching for awhile, so if you're interested this is a rare opportunity... more info: http://www.pittsburghglasscenter.org/classes/summer-intensives-classes/classes-Course-Detail.aspx?cid=251
