Mosaics - Glass art one piece at a time

I love using glass as tile. It can transform what may normally tossed as scrap into a whole new function.

'Creature of Volume'

This fantasy dress was made using soda glass, irridescent water glass and irridescent bullseye glass. Each piece is hand cut, laser etched and silk-screen printed. The glass is combined with silver wire, 3,000 cut glass crystals and silk-screen printed metallic silk and organza. This dress formed part of my degree show at the University of Hertfordshire. The whole project took in excess of 700 hours to execute.

There Be Dragons!

A reverse painted Chinese Dragon on a glass plate. These can be used for display in a stand - or to eat from! Since they are reverse painted, you can use for dinnerware. Also the paint is fully hand washable! I am working on creating a series of 12 plates - one for each year of the Chinese Zodiac. Coming soon - the Year of the Rat. Who says rats can't be sexy?
