Dichro Dragon

I made this huge (almost 4in long!) dragon pendant for the CBS dichroic contest 2008. It features pattern dichro for the teeth and dichroic galaxies in the eyes. I was going to sell him, but I received an honorable mention in the contest so, I decided to keep him for myself! Visit the contest page to see all the other great works of dichroic art... http://www.cbs-dichroic.com/contest2008.asp

'Totem' by Mark Leputa

This is a piece I had been wanting to do for a while where two bubbles are joined. I had done this a while back in New Zealand ('Weight'), but I wanted to do it on a larger scale. Its something I would like to do more of. The color layers have been carved into creating an internal pattern similar to 'Float On'. Thank you to JT Nelson (Metalwerx) for making the steel and powdercoated stand. This piece was on display at SOFA Chicago, now available through Silica Galleries. enamel white over steel blue and sargasso green blown, cut, polished, carved, and sandblasted glass, oil painted surface with a steel stand (powercoated black) 7" x 17" x 6" w/o stand 11.5" x 17" x 6" w/ stand 2008 AL

Glowing Spider Web

the torch shop was open to our class during the last few weeks. I hadn't made a spiderweb in years so i figured I'd try one in spruce pine glow glass.
