Black and red glass lamp

It's 21 inches tall, and all glass except for the electrical parts of course. It's now on my desk and my other glass lamp has to find a new home to illuminate! Haha!

Thesis Work

This is an idea I worked on during my last year in school. It consists of photograms that I have taken of my interpretations of 1920's style Barovier pieces (hence my naming them Vetrograms). The process is somewhat complicated, but very straight forward in relationship to the way I've chosen to display them. This series speaks of History as well as the magnification of the Hand of the Artist through the pieces.

"Herkimer Claw"

In the Summer of 2005 Andrew Brown and I got together for the 2nd time at his studio in Kansas City. We really wanted to step outside the box, so we decided to forget the technique and focus on shapes. Andrew also got his hands on some crazy color boro blobs. These blobs weighed between 1-5 pounds each. I was afraid to use them at first, because they looked like they would blow up in the flame, but it went great. More Pics Coming Soon

Neon workshop with Harold Eberhart

Some pictures from a workshop I did with Harold Eberhart at his studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I would encourage anyone who is interested in working with pyrex glass to take a class from Harold. He is, without a doubt, one of the best teachers out there!

Glass ornaments for end of season 2005

Somehow I always get caught without enough glass when it comes time for holiday craft fairs.. and by always I mean the past two fairs I've done. A couple of friends and myself participated in the Plowshares Peace Festival put on by the Syracuse Peace Council. I had planned to have a whole lot more leaves, once again I'll say "next year.." We didn't do really well but we did passably, and we had a lot of fun. The leaves were drawn from pressed leaves I collected this season, the snowflakes were drawn from photos of the real thing.

2005 -12 "opal eye #2"

Testing out a grey/ black backgound for taking pictures.. still have a little tweaking to do.. This is a request from a customer for another opal eye geode weight.. I changed this one up a bit and used some different colors.. the dichro is hidden in the background and pops from certian angles. There is a pear shaped gilson opal in the middle of a fumed lotus.. the layers of color include blue moon, ns yellow, and a mix of frits and fume for the outside....

"Rice Bowl"

This rice bowl was created by incorporating two colors of powdered frit. It has a bright red lip wrap where you rest the chopsticks. These chopsticks are made with caramel color rod and sandblasted to produce such vibrant colors. These rice bowls are very functional and fun to use when you plan to have guests over for a fancy Oriental meal. True height is 4.5 inches. True width is 5 inches. Chopsticks are 7.7 inches long. Eat up!
