Original Hollow Marbles

I've been making these hollow marbles since 2001. they're challenging and unique, and they let me refine inside out patterns and techniques through the perfection of a sphere. i like the reaction i get from collectors when they pick up the big ones.... a puzzled and confused look... "they're so light!". there are no holes nor dimples, and the marbles are sealed hot. they are not fragile like christmas ornaments. the wall thickness is usually about 3/16". every now and then i'll get one with neutral bouyancy. they neither float or sink!

sculptural stemware, insects, cagecups gallery

Selected photos from my portfolio. Includes some earlier ceramic work (97) with my first experimentations in glass... it's addicting, now it's all glass. I like to work on the larger size. most pieces are in the 15" range, with the mantis and scarab being the largest, at 24". click on my name above for more galleries, and thanks for looking
