Petrified Wood Fossilized Amber Encased Mosquito

By Jonathan Paul Bennett. This is all glass made to look like a petrified slab of wood with a amber encased mosquito at the end. With a bonus whitetail buck horns and top skull plate. I recently studied with Alex Gabriel Burnstein. He handed me a single amber billet that I was to cold work into something without any torch. So with lathes, various sandbelts, polishers, saws,& grinders.Plus a sandblaster, fused metal and a kiln and I went to town and came up with this. This took me several days to do and gave me a whole new respect for cold working.Alex made me look at glass in a angle I have never before.I hope you enjoy this sculpture. As a bonus I threw in a top skull plate and horns of a whitetail buck with a 16 inch spread and 8 points for you to enjoy.Stands 17 inches without metal stand. The buck horns are made with a green amber and double amber purple color mix.The bone is star white. All displayed with custom metal stands. Thank you for looking and enjoy.
