Bumpys

I also love to do bumpy beads, they shine and sparkle like little jewels.

Devil with the face of an Angel

This 10" panel was made during an experimental class I took at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. Our focus was a class project of a three panel depiction of the Divine Comedy. This was my first practice piece for the process we were experimenting with. I made the silhouetted figures flat on the torch with soft glass. In the hot shop I arranged powders and frits inside a graphite mold and hot glass was ladled over it then the figures were added, torched briefly and another layer of clear glass was ladled over them. The scene depicted is of a Devil holding his pitchfork up triumphantly displaying the severed head of the Angel.
