Welcome to our vetro world - not to be confused with a virtual world! We are surrounded by our creations to the extent that sometimes I think we'll end up being encased in glass ourselves! Come on in and enjoy our view...

We're in the process of setting up another studio in southern Jerusalem. It's in a complex housing a variety of artists where tourists can come and see them actually creating their art. The finished work is sold in a collective showroom elsewhere on the premises.
Our's is the smallest space, but I've managed to squeeze in two minors so we can teach there, also. The vent's hood isn't up yet and Amnon is almost finished building the new kiln. I still need to design a big, colorful sign for the back wall.

Amnon has his head in the stars and his hand in the torch. This is a collection of his latest endeavors all done in Moretti Glass.

I have been playing at blowing beads lately. I've gone over the top with size and love it!

My grandmother used to say that "Mistakes are fashion". This is what pushed my hand to continue playing in the flame when I mistakenly screwed up and the bead should have been aborted into a glass of water!
I laughed out loud when these came out of the kiln... They are my new companions.

These beads are my tribute to the glorious Cherry Blossom Festivities held annually in Japan.

I was recently honored to have been included in the Good Things / Small Packages Exhibit at Public Works in San Francisco and in Santa Cruz. The catalogue is gorgeous and includes incredible work by incredible artists - a great addition to any glass library. I'm so thrilled to see my work on those pages!

Surprised to see I got a package, I immediately ripped it open and was even more surprised to see its contents - a catalogue from a French Museum (Musee Berck-sur-Mer) with one of my beads beautifully photograghed (even if sideways) on a full page! Its part of their exhibit entitled Perles D'Ecume showing sea-themed lampwork beads.

I've been at the torch trying to make something out of the ordinary to send to the Gathering 2006 in Kansas City. Owen isn't going though. He's staying home with us because he has such a big mouth!

I can't believe I had the nerve to send this to the Gathering's Creativity Unleashed contest!

Using Amnon's invention to keep the silver and gold foil/leaf in place while working makes it so much easier to apply. Here are some of those results.

Since we couldn't attend the Gathering this year, we decided to participate from afar. I sent an embellished letter opener and Amnon sent a bead pen. This was our first attempt to use these items and I must say it was fun designing them and a little challenging getting just the right sizes.

We are Robyn and Amnon Elbaz, living and creating our glass art in the mountains surrounding Jerusalem. The flame is our passion and obsession. Any critique or comments about our work is fully welcomed.
