In many cultures, shields and spears were used not only as defensive weapons, but also as decorative or ritual objects filled with symbolic meaning. While some functioned as weapons, many, however, were solely for ceremonial use, or displayed for prestige or status. As in almost all indigenous cultures, animals play an important role in spiritual rituals. This work is a continuation of my exploration into the spiritual relationship between man and animals. Fused, enameled, sandblasted glass with cast glass giraffe head in center.

    Sweet piece
Zak: Awsome work, but the tiny picture ruins the piece. Add larger pictures, please! I'd really like to see the details!

Rex Trimm: Great work Avery! Beautiful design - I'm very impressed. I'd have to agree with Zak... I'd like to see larger pics also so I can check out the detail.
    Keep it up!
