I'd love to be able to contribute more. Thanks GLASSARTISTS.ORG! My second child (born 6/06) and my first, 6 years old, combined with full time medical practice/business ownership means I still don't get much studio time. maybe 3 hours a week. GAS was great this year in Pittsburgh! All of this work was donated to GAS and CERF.

Dawn and Dusk
Set made for the Age of Aquarius show, Butler, PA. Cool sixties show. Iron Butterfly played this year (Inna-gatta-davida...)
Very happy to announce they won 1st Place in Category (Dusk) and Best in Show (Dawn)
They are commentary on war and peace. Tallest is about 24"
Dawn is the lavender figure. She has two fish swirling about in/as her hair.
Both have full detail to their faces and hands. Not apparent in the photos
Pieces this involved need a professional photographer....I'm going to look for one now. My apology for the low quality images.

Custom requested peice. Stand up version of the wall hanging "Through the Fire"
Legs are bent back but are proportional from the side. The look stubby in the photo.

Finally a finished peice of glass I would actually sell. Have many series of figuartive sculpture to persue in the years to come. Now to build up some inventory and look into the art/craft show market and galleries. Figures in this "phase are mainly going to be gestural and color play.
Photographing is still hard, clear and frosted glass...Oy.

Ok, now I can do some quality technigues in solid. Hollow symmetric forms coming along s-l-o-w-l-e-y. I can make nice figures and hollow scuplted items. Fun. Need to now work on larger assembly along with expanding the repertoire of individual skills. Need more torch. Maxing out the Baracuda. Anyone want to collab. I can add some high quality figures, heads, hands....

40-60 flameworkers gather in western PA annually for this rockin' even. 20+ torches raging until 2am after lectures all day. Lot's af talent to learn from, and that doesn't even include the artists that demonstrate! Townsend, Vandenberg, Selchow, Gateson, Laffler.....and MORE. Mickelson had to cancel because of the hurricane. We missed you Robbin.

Orr (Orrza Pendants) and EZEddy having some fun at the torch in the middle east. We met on the board. Orr is all alone in his glassworld in Israel- so anyone traveling to the middle east make sure to visit.
Peace, Eddy

3/2003: Just after the ribbon cutting ceremony. My wife and daughter.
1/2004: The other pics are of Studio #2. Moved My bro into the other space.
6/2004: Brother bought a house-gave hime a kiln. now I use 2 areas. The additional space has a sandblaster, panting table, and a big photo setup. Works OK with a 2.1mp digi, but exposure is still HARD to get.
11/2006: Update. Brother moved back to New England. We never did art together. Lesson: Life changes quckly, take advatage of what you have NOW, you may never get the chance again. I miss him.

Pre 2002: Not glass. Ceramic. Just to share some art until I start producing some GLASS. (note: this was posted after my first glass class but before my studio or any glass creations. I just had to post something. This is such a great forum.)

Thought I'd post some pics of my old setup for informative/newbie purposes, since it is not too mainstream. I work Boro. (I now work a PM2D and a G-tec TB-90 Natural gas booster) I osed to run the Beth Barracuda on 0.4psi(Yes, less than 1/2psi) Natural Gas AND 3 medical O2 concentrators that will push 5L (liters are volume) or about 9psi (15L total volume, obviously 3x5=15). The flame is softer, certainly not the mega push of a GTT on 20/50psi, but It generates heat nonetheless. I "Y" in 02 from a K tank for more volume (still only about 9psi) on the upper end for even more heat, and oxidizaation.
With only three concentrators and 0.4 psi nat gas: I could work 1" rod, just a bit slow. Easically make 1" marbles. Leans toward reducing flame. Anything under 10mm and it's just as hot/adequate as anything else I've used. Hope it's informative..... Pics display different flames...
