Mostly adding these to show some boro colors and what they look like in a small application such as little spacer beads. I hope this page will help with what some of the colors look like together, in frit form, and encased colors. Hopefully it will also be a good reference for people who want to try boro but don't know what colors to start with.

Teal Carnival 377 x 300 pixels (29 KB) 0 Comments Teal carnival encased in clear. As long as you encase quickly you should be able to keep the green base with blue opal haze. Purple Luster & Amazon Lagoon 500 x 233 pixels (40 KB) 0 Comments Purple luster encased in clear with amazon lagoon 'hourglass sand' size frit on the surface. I use a very hot oxy flame to get the opal amber violet.	Double amber purple 500 x 277 pixels (45 KB) 0 Comments Double amber purple encased in clear. Burn off haze before you apply the color for more purple after you strike.	Ruby & Yellow 500 x 271 pixels (44 KB) 0 Comments Ruby base encased in yellow then encased in clear. Brush beads with a reducing flame before putting in the kiln.
Blue Amber Purple 500 x 282 pixels (45 KB) 0 Comments Swirling opalescent blue violet, encased in clear. For better colors burn off all haze before you apply, I didn't do this and got more swirling inside the color. I didn't try to strike for more dramatic colors and effects. Purple areas are where the rod was striped, Ivory is where the color became reduced

Went right into the kiln when finished melting them round.

I am 25 years old, and have worked with glass for 12 years, getting my start when I was just 13 years old. This is now my 4th year working with borosilicate glass and I am still immersed in what feels like a fresh budding passion every time I create.

I'm now a full time student at NAU pursuing a degree in Sociology with a minor in jewelry metalsmithing. I will be paying for my education through the sale of my work. I really appreciate the support of all of my customers and glass enthusiasts! Besides glass & school, I love to Hike in the Grand Canyon!
