The endangered 'Akohekohe or Crested Honeycreeper was once found on Molokai as well but today is only found in the remote rainforests of East Maui. Its white headcrest is the perfect pollinator for the 'Ohi'a lehua, hawaii's dominant native rainforest tree. Someday I would love to see one, i believe they are down to around 1200 birds left and only live in extremely thick forest where access is restricted. There is some info at this link if yr. interested. http://nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/s tates/hawaii/preserves/art2358.html
