RK Glasswork's Gallery

RK Glasswork's Gallery I have been working with glass for about 8 years now. Here you will find soft glass that has been either fused, cold worked, or lampworked. The boroscilicate glass has been lampworked or coldworked.

I work with both boroscilicate and soft glass. However, from the getgo of my glass blowing journey I have been doing boroscilicate. Soft glass is something that I recently picked up. The difference between the two is the coeffecient of expansion aka COE. Boroscilicate is more resistant to thermal shock and checking. While soft glass cracks easier and also has a lower melting temperature.

If you have any questions, comments, or just like emailing people, there is a "contact artist" link at the bottom.

In here you will find various art work as in pendants, necklaces, scluptures, etc. I use all types of clear and color. However, I tend to use Glass Alchemy because their colors rock.

I mostly only use Bullseye glass as it is what is most readily available here in Portland. Lampworking with soft glass has been more tricky to learn than boro. Enjoy.
