I have been working with glass for about 8 years now. Here you will find soft glass that has been either fused, cold worked, or lampworked. The boroscilicate glass has been lampworked or coldworked.
I work with both boroscilicate and soft glass. However, from the getgo of my glass blowing journey I have been doing boroscilicate. Soft glass is something that I recently picked up. The difference between the two is the coeffecient of expansion aka COE. Boroscilicate is more resistant to thermal shock and checking. While soft glass cracks easier and also has a lower melting temperature.
