lampworking is very intense for me! I am very fortunate to have been taught by some of the biggest names on this website. Kobuki, Eugene Rain, Amber Pellegrini and Brian Ratcliffe are my biggest inspirations. I also want to send props out to all the Lampworkers that I have had the chance to cross paths with. Interesting bunch these lampworkers are :) Much love to the glassmakers.

Perfume Bottle Gallery

Perfume Bottle Gallery

Collection of Bottles 2005-2008. I started with the blown form and find these bottles have come a long way over the past couple years. My favorite part is making the stopper to fit perfectly inside the bottles lip. When I first started making these bottles I had to make 3 stoppers to each 1 bottle. I have since gotten past this challenge but still feel very creative while blowing out these bottles.

ENLIGHTENED A Glass Show at The Ayden Gallery

ENLIGHTENED A Glass Show at The Ayden Gallery

I made my first chandelier for this show. It's called 'Chandelerious'. This project took over three months to complete and was a colaboration with two other artists (Uncle Don from MHP Fabrications - Metalwork and Dougie Stewart from Gallus Designs - Grinding). Each piece of glass was made from Simax Large Flat Rod.

The Glass Show at the Ayden Gallery in Vancouver, British Columbia will continue until July 30, 2006 if
you have time to check it out. www.aydengallery.com.

There is a lot of great glass art at the show. Please take a look at their work as well. If you are an artist in the show and do not see your work here, please contact us and we will add it to the page.

Thanks for looking.

This series has gone to a great gallery in British Columbia. They're very unique and I love the colours. When you look at them at the right angle, it looks like the frogs are splashing into the water.

2005

2005

I found a gun while cleaning out a storage locker area of my apartment back in 2005. My building manager at the time let me set up my studio after gutting the entire place that was full of wood framed lockers (It took 2 months). We found the gun stashed under the flooring of one of the lockers...Once finished I set up my vents and an air intake and rocked it out of that shop for about a year. I grew out of this shop the minute that I bought my GTT Delta.... liquid tanks didn't really make it into this spot and the Delta can sure rage a regular tank FAST!......It was also not the best place for a glass shop.

Braden Hammond

Artist Statement and Bio

Braden Hammond began his journey as a lampworking glass artist in 2003 at Santa Cruz Art and Glass Studio in California. From that moment, he was hooked on the beauty of glass art and it’s endless possibilities. He is constantly exploring the techniques and challenges of glass and is an active participant in the growing glass movement.

Hammond’s current art focuses on modern expressions using various lampworking techniques. Whether it’s the clean lines of the Italian retichello pattern or the crisp pedals of the imploded flower, his dedication to perfection is a distinct part of his style.

“I strive to push my limits and the limits of glass every day. I am constantly learning, growing and creating new concepts that take my art to the next level. I focus and explore new methods and techniques to follow through with each of my visions.”

Hammond’s glass art is currently in galleries and boutiques across Canada and internationally. He has been featured in The Vancouver Province Newspaper, the Edmonton Journal and has been nominated as an Emerging Artist in The Flow Magazine, a Glass Journal for the Flameworking Community.

He has taught several classes at Andrighetti Glassworks, Western Canada’s largest lampworking facility. Braden Hammond currently resides in Vancouver, BC, Canada with his girlfriend and business partner Kristina Holtz.
