I believe that anything is possible.Life is always changing and evolving. With these beliefs I have applied them to my glass art.I have found a way to channel my passion and internal fire into my Plasma Fusion glass. A unique process that has evolved over time. A "Cioppino" of glass techniques. The result is beautiful thick glass. Optical clarity, and layers of kiln cast & fused glass.I enjoy working with float glass & optical crystal..My techniques include fusing, kiln casting, sandcarving, slumping & open kiln manipulation, hand painting and precious metal inlay. Vessels, Furniture, architectural glass, and anything that can be dreamed of.

Peggy's work combines unique optical glass & crystal to creatae Plasma Fusion Glass. She has long been fascinated and intrigued by glass and the light that passes through - the phenomenon of light waves creating color change. She continues to experiment with the material properties of translucency and transparency in this special glass. Her technique is woven into the glass to present her stories and interpretations. In addition to her Plasma Fusion Glass technique, she is an accomplished Verre' Eglomise (intaglio carved) glass artist.
Through studies& training (USA & Spain) she has found a unique glass voice. She has studied at Pilchuck Glass School & Spain, as well as studying with many masters of glass. Recently she had the privelege of working with Team Chihuly on the installation at DBG in Phoenix. Various cultures (such as Native American) have always fascinated her. With a close friendship of a Hopi friend, she has been inspired to create her contemporary glass series "Earth,Wind,Sky & Water". Through the storytelling of the Native culture and lore, she presents her interpretation through the medium of Kiln Sculpted Glass. She has learned many of the Hopi art & cultural techniques, including using pigments created using Native American techniques. These pigments are used for coloration in her Verre' Eglomise pieces. She is one of the leading glass artists today in this process. Peggy's work expands beyond her signature "Storyteller" series of glass, to create intricate glass sculptures that meld many processes & techniques.
"Each piece in the series is about the Earth,Wind,Sky & Water". The face sereis starts by creating a life mask of the person. This series features the masks of many people, of many cultures. Each piece tells the story about their life, and the circle of the spirit. I have tried to stay true to the culture and belief in each of the pieces of my glass" - Peggy Pettigrew Stewart 2009
