My first piece of fused glass was this little turtle made by an Oregon artist. It was fun to look at, to hold and the colors had melted together so beautifully. I knew I had to had to learn more about the art so that I could create my own fused glass creations.
Working with glass is amazing and ever changing. You begin with an idea but are not exactly sure how the colors & shapes will flow together until you open the kiln.
Life is stressful and complicated, for this reason I enjoy making items of a casual, whimsical nature. My love of the ocean and the Caribbean strongly influence the colors I chose to work with. They are calming and exciting all at the same time.
The pieces I have created are what I would call FUNctional art. Please don't just look, touch them ~ use them everyday ! My hope is someone will get the same pleasure from my work as I did from that turtle. My work is currently available in Illinois & Florida galleries or directly from me.
