Encased floral help
Hi Gwyn! Encased florals are hard to master but well worth it. Carol at Angel Creations has a wonderful tutorial on her website if you need visuals, but basically, after you put down your core of color, you want to encase it in a thin layer of clear. Then, using stringer, put small white dots (I usually use three) close to each other; these will be the base for the flower petals. Melt these partly but not all the way in. Next, using a transparent colored stringer, dot color on top of the white dots. Carefully melt them smooth, then spot-heat one flower at a time, and poke the center of the flower with a tungsten pick. Cover the hole with a tiny dab of clear glass to capture a bubble, then melt smooth and let the bead cool just enough to encase the whole thing without smearing your design.
